YESSS I DID IT.
I tried Ben's Cookies (orange chocolate chip) recently, and honestly I didn't like it. I'd rather buy Famous Amos but I have friends who love it, so I decided to try making my own and see how it'll turn out. I really splurged on this, with tips from friends, because this is an indulgent cookie after all!
There's a few recipes around, and I used this, with the recipe below:
Ben's Cookies
275g self raising flour (I used 265g flour + 10g baking powder)
200g butter
50g cocoa powder
300g caster sugar
1 egg
150g milk chocolate morsels (I used Nestle Toll House brand)
150g white chocolate (I used Nestle Toll House brand)
1 bar of Lindt sea salt dark chocolate, break into pieces
Cream butter with sugar, then egg, then flour like how you'd make a cake. I used a spatula for mixing, just because I used the spatula to scrape off all the butter from the wrapper. You can use a wooden ladle too.
Add in chocolate chips. Roll into balls of 50g each, I got 25 with 1 ball being 57g. So easy to roll into balls! I like this cookie dough.
Press in the Lindt chocolate pieces in and wrap the dough to cover the chocolate.
Line baking tray with aluminium foil, and bake for 8 minutes (I did 9) at 200 deg C. Cookie will set when it is cooling, so don't disturb it! Best eaten when freshly baked, but I got good reviews even when it's eaten next day.
First batch, without the Lindt chocolate. This was baked for 8 minutes. The centre is still so soft, but it'll set once cooled. I only moved it in a circular motion so it won't stick to the foil.

Melted chocolate inside! 1 chocolate chip decide to stick to the foil after all -_-
This cookie is pretty sweet, but if cookies aren't sweet, they aren't cookies. HAHA. Recommended to make, especially if you like soft cookies! I won't be buying Ben's Cookies from the shop anymore! HAHA.
