Gym

I went to the gym yesterday! 2nd time. Last Friday I just followed my colleagues out of curiosity and then they got me to do some stretching exercises which are no joke by the way!! My legs were so sore I really needed to take full care when bending my legs! And that too, I did in my jeans. Haha. Wasn't dressed for it but oh wells just gave it a try.

So yesterday I joined them again, this time I brought proper clothes and shoes and I was all psyched to get myself in shape! It was also my first time on the threadmill hurhur I know so suaku right. I don't go gyms and when I do jog (not run), it's at the park near my mum's house. And me and my lack of balancing skills, I was kinda scared so I held on to the handles when I started for the first 5 to 10 minutes or so. One good thing about the threadmill is that you have to force yourself to keep up with the speed. If you're in a park running, then you will tend to slow down or walk and that kills momentum. I didn't push myself a lot, didn't want to give my body a scare but the 15 minutes was a good start, then I did this skiing machine thingy which was even more tiring on the legs!

But the killer part was the stretches. Oooh yes. The squats. Lunges. Faints.

Today there's netball for happy hour, I hope it happens (last week it didn't cos of the rain) and here's to a healthier & fitter me! Yay!

My shoes which The Husband bought for me even before we got married to encourage me to exercise but sadly after marriage I never did use them hurhur. That's LONG. Hello again!

Daiso Ramekins

Finally finally went to Daiso!! Wanted to go there for ages already! The first thing I came in, went to the cooking section. Found my ramekins! But they're not white. Oh wells. Can't be choosy for $2 ramekins! There were white ones, but super small white ramekins. And pie tarts too! Oooh so tempting! But I don't know when I'll make tarts hurhur. Actually I'm still thinking what I should bake using these ramekins. I remember having one of those "I wish I had ramekins right now" moments but I can't remember when. Maybe when I was making lava cake . Daiso is evil. It's so cheap you just feel like coming back again! Oh and did I mention there's a $2 weighing scale?! Measures up to a kilo but that's quite alright for baking isn't it! I mean, $2!! Dirt cheap lah. Not sure about the accuracy though. Didn't do much cleaning last weekend, very much spent lazing around at home just like what weekends should be like. I love being at ho...

Apam Balik

I love apam balik. The soft one, with lots of corn. So when @khairulaming posted this on his instagram, I bookmarked it. The recipe is not too much until you get sick of eating apam balik, but I do feel it needs some tweaks to get the pancake king version. But not bad for a first try. 2 cups flour 1/2 cup sugar 1 tsp baking powder 1/2 tsp baking soda 2 tbsp melted butter 1 1/4 cups water 1 egg Additional butter for the pan I do feel it needs some salt, more sugar and I shouldn't have liberally made it so thick HAHA. The pan is important too, I kinda burnt some parts of the pancake. Got them bubbles!! This recipe made 2 large pancakes. Also, the filling needs to be sprinkled with sugar liberally (read: 3 tbsp or so), my first try wasn't enough. Pancake was soft even for the next few days after that (kept in the fridge then reheated in the microwave). Husband found it to be acceptable, but I was kinda not okay with it but ohwells. I can tweak it ...

Lontong Goreng Tomyam

When Husband's not around, I become more hardworking HAHAHA. I clean more, I cook more. Saturday I made lontong goreng tomyam for breakfast, and yesterday I made my first ever chicken rice. I even have ingredients to make aglio olio, which I think I'll make either tonight or early tomorrow morning for breakfast. The lontong goreng was a pure experiment, no inferences from recipes and all but it turned out good. Not sure if it's something Husband would eat haha! Lontong Goreng Tomyam 1 packet lontong instant Adabi, cut in cubes 4 tbsp tomyam paste 2 eggs, pre-scrambled Handful of mushrooms Chicken breast, sliced Coriander leaves (I didn't have lemongrass or lime leaves) 1/2-1 tsp salt Fry the tomyam paste in some oil, then add the mushrooms and chicken to cook them. Add some water so the paste doesn't dry up. Add in the scrambled eggs then the lontong cubes and fry until mixed well. For yesterday's chicken rice, I adapted slightly from a reci...
