Scatter Brain

Hello everyone I am feeling very lazy to work and so many people are on leave already!

My fingers on my left hand smells of baby barf! As weird as it may sound, I shall not wash it with soap just as yet cos I will smell my fingers if I miss my boy.

And I miss my boy so so much!

I miss my other boy too. He was busy with sooo many things over the weekend that I only managed to enjoy his company only minutes before dozing off.

And I don't want movie dates! No fun just watching the screen -_-"

But then again I always talk a lot in movies. I love to spoil the show and give my own commentary. Hahahha. Husband gets irritated by it but I do it anyway teeheehee!

Today is the last day for the 1-for-1 Filet-O-Fish deal. Maybe I shall have two Filet-O-Fish burgers for lunch! :D

Tampines Mall is overcrowded.

9kg baby on a ring sling for TWO hours is sooo not advisable for your shoulder. Pain will last two days. Minimum.

Okay I just smelt my fingers. Baby barf isn't nice.

Hahah you must be thinking, DUH right, barfs are never fragrant!

I am still on a hunt for a backpack. Went to Zinc yesterday and I actually want the simple Outdoor kinda backpack, and I saw this cute girly backpack with small white hearts haha! Was contemplating on getting it and I didn't in the end.

Backpacks are expensive. Who pays $60 for backpacks!! Aren't they supposed to be $30 or something?

Ah! Back to School deal by Royal Sporting House! Maybe I'll get the JanSport bag instead! Yippee!

Or should I get that white hearts bag?? Heeheehee!!!

Everyone is on holiday I think. Even the expressways aren't jammed up.

I baked two cakes over the weekend, a normal butter cake at my mum's on Saturday, and banana cake early morning yesterday! I wanna bake the perfect chocolate cake for Husband. Complete with frosting or ganache. Shall stock up on ingredients!

So I learnt the key to a fluffy cake is to add more eggs. Aaahhhhh.

Tomorrow I'm on course again, this time it's ETHICS. One course a week for whole of December! To meet training hours, what else. Hahaha.

Perfect! There's both Zinc and Royal Sporting House at Junction 8! Can drop by during lunch!

I shall stop here. FFL is online! Yay!

Daiso Ramekins

Finally finally went to Daiso!! Wanted to go there for ages already! The first thing I came in, went to the cooking section. Found my ramekins! But they're not white. Oh wells. Can't be choosy for $2 ramekins! There were white ones, but super small white ramekins. And pie tarts too! Oooh so tempting! But I don't know when I'll make tarts hurhur. Actually I'm still thinking what I should bake using these ramekins. I remember having one of those "I wish I had ramekins right now" moments but I can't remember when. Maybe when I was making lava cake . Daiso is evil. It's so cheap you just feel like coming back again! Oh and did I mention there's a $2 weighing scale?! Measures up to a kilo but that's quite alright for baking isn't it! I mean, $2!! Dirt cheap lah. Not sure about the accuracy though. Didn't do much cleaning last weekend, very much spent lazing around at home just like what weekends should be like. I love being at ho...

Apam Balik

I love apam balik. The soft one, with lots of corn. So when @khairulaming posted this on his instagram, I bookmarked it. The recipe is not too much until you get sick of eating apam balik, but I do feel it needs some tweaks to get the pancake king version. But not bad for a first try. 2 cups flour 1/2 cup sugar 1 tsp baking powder 1/2 tsp baking soda 2 tbsp melted butter 1 1/4 cups water 1 egg Additional butter for the pan I do feel it needs some salt, more sugar and I shouldn't have liberally made it so thick HAHA. The pan is important too, I kinda burnt some parts of the pancake. Got them bubbles!! This recipe made 2 large pancakes. Also, the filling needs to be sprinkled with sugar liberally (read: 3 tbsp or so), my first try wasn't enough. Pancake was soft even for the next few days after that (kept in the fridge then reheated in the microwave). Husband found it to be acceptable, but I was kinda not okay with it but ohwells. I can tweak it ...

Lontong Goreng Tomyam

When Husband's not around, I become more hardworking HAHAHA. I clean more, I cook more. Saturday I made lontong goreng tomyam for breakfast, and yesterday I made my first ever chicken rice. I even have ingredients to make aglio olio, which I think I'll make either tonight or early tomorrow morning for breakfast. The lontong goreng was a pure experiment, no inferences from recipes and all but it turned out good. Not sure if it's something Husband would eat haha! Lontong Goreng Tomyam 1 packet lontong instant Adabi, cut in cubes 4 tbsp tomyam paste 2 eggs, pre-scrambled Handful of mushrooms Chicken breast, sliced Coriander leaves (I didn't have lemongrass or lime leaves) 1/2-1 tsp salt Fry the tomyam paste in some oil, then add the mushrooms and chicken to cook them. Add some water so the paste doesn't dry up. Add in the scrambled eggs then the lontong cubes and fry until mixed well. For yesterday's chicken rice, I adapted slightly from a reci...
