Football Iron Fan Food

Watching football alone is boring, even if it's exciting Latin American countries against each other. I was sleepy during the second half of the Brazil-Chile match. And 15 minutes before game ends, I fell asleep. Woke up to find advertisements already playing. I burnt a hole in my white tudung today!! Actually, it's TWO holes! But I only left the iron for a few seconds only!! How can! I've left the iron for like a minute on t-shirts and other cotton clothes and nothing happened. Darn. Haha so that's my first iron burn hole. Luckily it's just a tudung and not clothes. Finally! We have the fan up and running! It wasn't spoilt! We thought it was, well it really didn't work when we tried it! So we went back to the store to exchange, but when we were there, we saw that there's no more of the same fan, or the other model similar to it. What's left are small table fans and a bloody expensive standing air-con unit. The air-con unit would be perfect for t...

Mood Swings

Like a freakin' pendulum.

To The Market To The Market!

Me and my trolley, off to the market! It's a nice day today, sunny, yet not too glaring. Windy with not too much pollen I hope. Let's walk to the market! :) Past a row of houses before reaching the town's tube station. An old man with a white songkok haji busy in his garden, from the back I thought he's Malay cos of the colour of his skin. Ah. How nice it would be to find another Malay here! But it's not. A man standing at the pedestrian crossing waiting for the green man, but he didn't press the button. Wait long long ah lydat! They don't work on weight sensors you know. A couple of people painting their houses, bright brick red. Some houses already had a fresh coat of paint. Shades of pink and red roses abundant in gardens, and other summer flowers. Pretty! Of course, there are abandoned gardens too. Market! But first, window shopping for dresses and skirts :) I love how easily you can get long skirts and dresses here. Affordable too! Went in and out of al...

Shopping Time

21 June 2010: Wanted to do something different with sotong today, like sotong bakar or something like that, but it was hard to find the recipe! So I settled for this one instead: http://audreycooks.blogspot.com/2006/08/sotong-curry-squid-or-calamari-in.html Finally! I could use the belacan and asam. Haha. Other Half loved it, so mission accomplished! Today: Life has been good. So good that I've been getting fatter. Haha. NOT good. That, I hate. The babats gather round the stomach area. Bleah. Can I have a magic wand and zap it all away? :( The weather's getting cooler, and hotter and cooler and hotter. Today it's hot. But one thing good about summer, shopping :) Sale has also begun, but nothing much on sale caught my eye yet. Lots of long dresses and quite a few skirts here! I like! Maybe I shall go looking for that wide leg pants too. After being dormant for a couple of months (a major feat!), the shopper in me has come alive! Hahahahahaha

Touched

Very good holiday :) Feels kinda weird to be back at home after a week of walking around a lot. And when I walk a lot and get thirsty, there's no appetite to eat. Now I feel fat and lazy. The kitchen is just a stretch away! Munch munch. I have a stupid headache. Sian. I think it's the result of staring so intently (and frowning too) at the laptop watching two episodes of CSI back to back. I think I need the green pastures, large homely German country-side houses and fat brown & white cows back. I love the view. And good for the eyes too. Anyway! I wanted to say I is touched! Haha :) One, dearest Shez sent me 2 long smses asking me if I'm okay cos I haven't messaged her for a couple of days. So sweet! I thought it was my mum messaging me, so I went back to sleep thinking I'll reply later. Two! Juni misses me while I was away from Internet. Haha. And an all-time sweetie, Other Half. He was so sweet to have offered to help out with housework yesterday :) He...

Back Again in Florence

Ciao! :) In Florence right now. Yes! For the second time! Haha! This time with a husband :D It's Day 2 of Italy-Fussen trip, and I've gotten myself a tan already. Forgot to bring my hat!! Sigh. So far it's been a beautiful time here, Pisa was okay, but Florence is amazing :) We painstakingly climbed 463 steps up to the top of the Duomo, got amazing views, gawked at churches (what else) which weirdly I didn't notice how beautiful they are or I must have forgotten when I came here 3 years ago. And the best part of today was getting our souvenir, a watercolour painting of Florence. We saw this particular artist with some of his paintings near San Lorenzo, and we were contemplating on getting it. After looking at other artists' and vendors' collections, we decided to go back to him but the initial one we wanted was already sold. But! We saw a work in progress at the side of his chair, not yet ready to be displayed. We asked if we could have him complete it and he sa...

Update

It's 6pm Monday and we have not packed! Haha. Facebook is flooded with fotos from the AAM camp last weekend. Sian. I wish I could've attended! Would've been so much fun and also get to know the kids. I especially like dragon boating. I remember last year's camp. I got darker because of it, with a wedding in like two months! Haha! Luckily the tan wasn't that bad :D The weather seems to be getting hot again. More bright sun and pollen. I hate pollen. Most of it dandelions I guess. We're both much better now, and trying to avoid being sick again. Hopefully the change in weather won't get us sick. For the third time. Today's my mummy's birthday. And only today, with the help of FFL, I realised that I could've bought for her shoes via Charles & Keith online and send it to her doorstep! Why didn't I think of it earlier! But never mind. I browsed, purchased, and hopefully it reaches my mum soon! My blog is boring. I don't blog that o...

Nothing Like Home

I hate London. I don't know why people love this place so much. It sucks. The air here sucks. It's dirty, pollen infested, dirty, smelly and just not the kind of air you wanna breathe in. Bleah. I don't like the medical facilities either. Wayyy too comfortable with Singapore's. I don't like the hooligans especially the youngsters. Feel like slapping and punching them. If any one of them was killed in some fight, I'd say good riddance. The only nice thing about this place is that their customer service (for some retail shops) are amazing. Very friendly. But other than that, I miss my Singapore very much. I can't wait for us to be back in our own home. Yup. I'm a spoilt Singaporean brat who thinks there's no other better place than home. I won't ever want to step into this country again unless there's no other choice.
