Gloom Sunshine Air Marriage

It's a boring, boring day. And gloomy too. I can't decide if gloomy's better than sunny. The sun here's quite bad, and it's not even summer yet. Too glaring! And hermit me spends most of the time in this small little room, maybe my eyes have been too accustomed to the lighting in the room instead. When I go out it's like a vampire in the sun. But seriously! It's bad sun here! At least in Singapore there's clouds to cover the sun. Luckily today and yesterday, it's gloomy and raining after many days of sun. Well the trees need water too once in a few weeks. Thinking of getting a pair of sunglasses since I forgot to bring mine. Went to a shop yesterday, didn't seem to have many frames to choose from :s And a lot of them are narrow! How to fit a wide, huge face like mine! Some of the frames I tried, the nose bridge didn't even sit on my nose. It was hanging. Bleah. Feeling pukish again. The air? Or staring too much into the computer? Or my po...

The Mouse Is In The House

First sighted: 11.23pm on 22 April 2010. Caught in the act: Biting into the rice bag, and not bothering if it makes too much noise biting its way through. Me? Freaked out lah! A mouse! A rat! What if it's the big kind that's at my mum's void deck! Ewww gross! And how did it get in here! Yucks yucks yucks! Both of us stayed on the bed like elephants being scared of a teeny weeny mouse. Then, not like we could do anything about it, about half an hour later and after phoning both our mums, we decided to go back to bed. I didn't sleep as fast as Other Half, though. How to! The little rodent was still there! What if it crawled up the bed! And it was still trying hard to find its way through to the rice. The next morning, we didn't know where it went, and looks like it pooped at the scene of the crime. We threw away the bag of rice, even though I think it didn't get pass through the plastic bag. The rice bag has two layers, one is the gunny sack, and inside, a ...

Sliced Thumb

The thumb is very important. You may not realise it until you can't use it. I just cut my thumb again! Haha! The other time was my right thumb which didn't stop bleeding for like an hour. This time it's the left thumb, I cut it while I was cutting bread. Not as deep, but it bled too. I'm such a selenger! It's like, the bread knife was cutting the french loaf with much force (the bread's quite hard) and bang! There goes the thumb. Sliced. Reaction's pretty slow. Haha! Other Half was so worried. But I was laughing. I know, it may not be funny, but nothing to fret about! I'm perfectly fine! :D And these things always happen to me. Hahaha. Sometimes I even forget I have a cut! I hope the wound doesn't open up again. Here's a list of things you can't do or find difficulty in doing when the thumb's hurt: wearing your pants hooking your bra (really!) cutting onions washing dishes drive (especially if your car has manual gear) finding stuff in yo...

Fat Talk

I just bought this dress! I love it :) Okay lah fine it looks normal. Actually I bought a green one like over a week ago. Haha! It's pretty! And the best thing is the price. 10 pounds! Who cares if it came from a supermarket company! Even back at home it's hard to find a decent dress at that price. Doesn't matter I have two colours of the same design. I do that sometimes. It's not always that you chance upon clothes you really like, including the price. I love spring! Bring on the dresses and skirts!! I look fat. I AM fat. Women are always conscious about how they look. Being/ looking fat is a no-no. I hate clothes that make my butt look big. Or show my tummy. Or anything else unflattering. I tend to compare myself to others, if I look bigger than them. And if I don't, or someone tells me I don't, I feel happy. I don't think it's a disease. Haha! But it's sick. When I've put on weight, I'll rationalise and think that others around me have ...

BORED

To try this week: Thosai masala Green curry Either kek batik or no bake cheesecake. I am bored. Today's a Sunday, which means my favourite grocery store will close in less than half an hour's time. Bleh. Grocery shopping tomorrow then! I have no idea where to go dating later. I'm bored. Nothing much to cook cos I kinda need to go grocery shopping. If only there were potatoes... I'd be making curry puffs I guess. I already made a little sweet lassi for myself -_-" I'm so bored maybe I should sleep. B O R E D D D D. Blearghhhhhhhhh. Hmm. Maybe I'll watch The Mentalist.

Heels & Cooking

I don't understand. Why do some people think that women wearing high heels to work is a sign of oppression. Apparently, women need to make themselves suffer by wearing uncomfortable heels so that they can look good and be noticed. They won't be noticed solely for their talent and work capabilities. I don't quite agree. I wear heels cos it's pretty! Doesn't everyone like pretty things? Why make yourself look ugly rite. It is in our nature to want to look good. And secondly, heels, with the added height, gives you more confidence. Compare that to wearing flats. There's the relaxed, slack feeling. Not good. Thirdly, it is part of formal wear, just like how suits and ties are part of a man's formal wear too. Stupid people. You know what. Besides the fact that I'm with Other Half, being in London sucks. First, my VPN cannot be accessed. Bloody hell. Now. My laptop has been attacked by a stupid virus that doesn't allow me to even enter Internet. Wahlau eh....

Foodie!

Overdue fotos! Of food. Hahahaha. Kuih tarts ready to be baked!! Pardon the messy jam. Aesthetics was intentionally compromised. And then they were all baked! This was made using a heart shaped cookie cutter. Haha. Variety mah. And as of today. Kuih tart finished. Gone. Habis. Today's meal: briyani!! :))) What I felt was a gargantuan task, yay! I did it! My mum's briyani is still better, though. But not bad for my first time. Haha! So happy!! :)))

Ambitious Much?

Ultimate bummer of the year: freakin' wedding clashes on FFL's wedding. Basket !^%^$#@^#! First, it was two weddings. Then I thought, okay fine, I'll go the nikah for the other one. BUT. BOTH have nikah at the same day around the same time. Doesn't help that the wedding will be held like wayyy east. And then, the most bummerful of them all if there's such a word, another wedding I can't escape. Seriously. I even dreamt that I would be able to skip, but as usual, dreams are opposite of reality :((((( This weekend we might be going Birmingham, and maybe somewhere else too. Wheee!! Hope the weather is nice enough like yesterday! Stop it with the cold winds and rain and grey clouds already! Spring is past due! Speaking of yesterday! After days of not being tourists, we went to the Westminster area for a stroll. Fotos yet to be uploaded. Maybe tomorrow. Lovely blue sky is back! At least for yesterday. And the temperature was bearable! Not the wintery chill! Yayn...

Butter Chicken?

Yippee!!! I is so excited! I think I just made what tastes like butter chicken. Muahahahaha. An unlikely mix of rempah, and voila! Sedapness! Well at least I think it's sedap. Have to wait for the verdict from Other Half. Hahahaha. What started off as a need to use the tomatoes before they go bad, to resorting to cook playcheat masak merah (Brahim's Masak Merah instant mix), to mixing in Shan Tikka powder (the masak merah gravy wasn't spicy enough to my liking), then! It tasted a bit (a bit only) like the butter chicken at our friend's house for Hari Raya! So I added like 1 tsp butter. HAHA. Anyhow whack only lah. Teeheehee I think I shall start concocting other recipes as well. HAHA. If it turns out weird then I pity Other Half. Haha!
