Banana Muffins with Toblerone

Repeat recipe: Tyler Florence's Banana Muffins

I've been wanting to make banana muffins over the weekend to use up the leftover bananas and yoghurt sitting in the fridge. Finally got some time yesterday night. My little girl sorta helped, it's not always that she wants to bake! I have lots of chocolates here and there and I can't possibly eat them all. Here I've used up 24 mini Toblerones muahahaha. I still have another 2 bags of mini Toblerones though! I don't know why but they don't taste as good anymore. I'm quite picky with chocolates these days. A sign that I'm getting older, plus I don't want to waste calories cos it's so hard to burn!

Speaking of burning calories! I've been getting comments that I look slimmer, or that my face is slimmer now (must be the tudung) but honestly I feel the same. I still have babats and my flat tummy target is far from achieved. But at least my butt doesn't jiggle as much when I jog, cos that's just terrible. Almost 1 year of exercising, though pretty inconsistent with the workouts (when I'm lazy I'll just use the treadmill) and even though I don't feel anything on the outside, I do hope my insides are better. I know I need to improve my diet but I'm having trouble with controlling desserts muahahaha.

Here's to more of the treadmill and to more circuit workouts!

CNY Bakes

Back from the long weekend! Spent two days fully at home, cooking and baking. So happy. Day 1 was sindhi briyani and Almond London . Day 2 was ayam lemak cili padi and a batch of almost Famous Amos chocolate chip cookies , but I split the batter into 2: hazelnut, white chocolate, cranberry combination and hazelnut, dark chocolate chip combination. I made the cranberry ones first, they taste awesome. But after I ate the chocolate chip one, say bye bye to cranberry! Nothing beats chocolate. And the white chocolate chips somehow dissolved into the batter, melted. What to do, it's just white chips from Redman. I should try a better brand instead.  Happy new year indeed!

White Chocolate Cranberry Oatmeal Bars

I love these! It's like a blondie but to make me feel less guilty, there's oatmeal. Was supposed to make these and freeze for easy morning breakfasts, but seems like they ran out pretty quickly that it didn't require that much freezing. Original recipe here . I made these almost three months ago and I still think about making these again and again. White Chocolate Cranberry Oatmeal Bars 2 1/2 cups old fashioned oats 2 cups flour 1 1/2 cups brown sugar 1 teaspoon baking soda 1 teaspoon salt 1 tablespoon vanilla 2 large eggs 1 1/4 cups butter melted 1 cups white chocolate chips 1 cup dried cranberries This is like one bowl mix so anything goes. Spread batter in two 8x8 square tins, bake for 22 min at 180 degrees Celsius.

Daiso Ramekins

Finally finally went to Daiso!! Wanted to go there for ages already! The first thing I came in, went to the cooking section. Found my ramekins! But they're not white. Oh wells. Can't be choosy for $2 ramekins! There were white ones, but super small white ramekins. And pie tarts too! Oooh so tempting! But I don't know when I'll make tarts hurhur. Actually I'm still thinking what I should bake using these ramekins. I remember having one of those "I wish I had ramekins right now" moments but I can't remember when. Maybe when I was making lava cake . Daiso is evil. It's so cheap you just feel like coming back again! Oh and did I mention there's a $2 weighing scale?! Measures up to a kilo but that's quite alright for baking isn't it! I mean, $2!! Dirt cheap lah. Not sure about the accuracy though. Didn't do much cleaning last weekend, very much spent lazing around at home just like what weekends should be like. I love being at ho
