First Ever Trip Away From Junior

I went KL a week ago for a work conference invitation. I was just an observer, so it was relaxing for me hehe. Free trip! But it was a dreaded trip. Because for the first time ever, I was going to leave behind my precious breastfed (albeit partially) baby, and that is heartwrenching for both baby and mother. I don't know how heartwrenching it is for baby but definitely for mommy! I have become so used to the pattern of cuddling him while feeding him to sleep, then I get sleepy too from all those sleepy hormones released while breastfeeding, and bedtime for me is 10-ish. But being away from baby, I couldn't sleep! Like really tossing and turning on the bed. Both nights I slept after midnight, close to 1am. It was tiring. Pumping was okay, I woke up in the wee hours of the morning to pump, wasn't really sleepy after that. It has been ages since I can't fall asleep quickly. The conference was good, food's good. Food's almost always good in Malaysia haha! I

What Awaits in Langkawi

We're going to Langkawi this Friday till the 7th, and Husband has a conference to attend from that Friday till Monday. Bummer. Anyhoo. It's back to honeymoonland! With a baby. No scooter rides there! Or... Can we? Hurhurhur :D Ahhh Langkawi :) We loved our stay there. Very laid back, and our stay at Sheraton was awesome. Humongous rooms! Okay back to present day. I have yet to pack! How much diapers would I have to bring omg! And clothes! I do think I'd have to wash some? Games! What should I do with Junior when Husband's away? I need to keep him entertained and brain stimulated. But almost everything he sees and holds, he wants to put them in his mouth. No sandy beach for him then. And the hotel we're staying in for the first three nights giving me the creeps. The name sounds nice - Awana Porto Malai. But the reviews ! Omg the toilet reviews! It's disgusting. Like moss-gross. There's picture evidence too. How can they not scrub their floors once in a

On MC

Hello!! I'm on Medical Leave :D Husband's at work, and Junior's at my mum's house. I'm free to do just about everything! Heh. Morning I sent off Junior, and stuck around for a bit before going to my all time fave Chong Pang to get some stuff and most importantly, threading. I've been putting it off for the longest time! With that done, and toiletries bought, I spent $50. How did I spend that much on so few items! And I've yet to buy rice, kicap and eggs! Anyway. So I went home, fried my french beans to go with my daging masak kicap for lunch, and then washed and hung clothes to dry, and then baked a chocolate cake (recipe later), and vacuumed the house and now I'm taking a break before I start ironing. Did all that when I'm supposed to be resting and slacking around haha. Husband's gonna scold me for not resting hehe! Daging masak kicap was done yesterday, I prepared everything and cooked the meat and off to zzzland I went, while Husband

New Birks!

Yay! New sandals! My second pair of Papillios, the first one was like at least five years ago? That pair went long distances, took me to many faraway places! This pair? We'll see where they'll bring me :)

May Day Weekend

FABULOUS weekend! :) Saturday morning's class was fun! Especially love the part where they gave us dolls to play practise holding babies in breastfeeding position wahahaha. Other Half thinks I'm too rough with the doll. Hehe. Went for a short getaway to JB. Stayed at Thistle for the second time because the first time was totally awesome, but this time round the service sucks. We were made to wait for like an hour before we could get our room because it wasn't ready. What the heck!! It's not like we asked for early check-in! I think they were shorthanded, but knowing that it's a public holiday, and the number of bookings they have, shouldn't they get more people to come and work?! Disaster at the reception I tell you. So many people were waiting. Anyway. That aside, it was a good getaway. Laze around doing nothing haha. Other Half wanted a seafood dinner and so we went to Senibong. I haven't even heard of that place in my life yet it's so popular! L

Turi Beach Resort!

Pictures from Batam honeymoon! :) Love the resort. Can just lepak there the whole day. The only bad thing is there's no shops within walking distance. But the view is wonderful. Next time we come here, we should stock up on snacks or food so that we don't have to order room service all the time. Haha.

Batam Getaway

Went Batam for a short getaway! Pictures later cos I haven't transferred them to the laptop, let alone edit the fotos! Most fotos aren't about us anyway. Haha! And as usual, we tend to forget those mandatory shots like the room, the food. But we did take photos of the room on the second day. The place is gorgeous nonetheless! Wasn't expecting Batam to have such a resort. A very good place to relax and unwind and just spend quality time with your loved one. Speaking of which, we saw a gay couple doing just that! Gross lah looking at the ang moh and malay guy taking couple fotos yucksss. Anyway! Went to meet lil' one yesterday! All grown up and fidgeting :) So adorable! ♥ Our next meet will be in February, quite long more to go :( Can't wait!

Honeymooning

Marriage Central's tips for love to work: Go on a 2nd or even 3rd honeymoon. Done that! ;) Our honeymoon fund's never full! And yet we're thinking of many more destinations to explore :D

Back Home

I'm back in Singapore. Flight was okay, I was seated in between two men who luckily are thin. Food was from an Indian company. The dessert for dinner was AWESOME. Something called Pista Kheer. It was delicious! At first I was jealous cos the non-halal food got Strawberry Truffle. But the Kheer was delicious! And something new! Breakfast was bleargh though. Singapore is more humid than London. My face was super red when I got out of the airport. Didn't help that the plane wasn't cold at all. Met family :) Nice to see them again after so long, though it didn't feel long. I miss Other Half :( I miss disturbing him. And seeing him smile. And hearing his laugh. I miss everything I do with him. Which is practically everything :D I shall not cry. He's coming back soon :)

Back Again in Florence

Ciao! :) In Florence right now. Yes! For the second time! Haha! This time with a husband :D It's Day 2 of Italy-Fussen trip, and I've gotten myself a tan already. Forgot to bring my hat!! Sigh. So far it's been a beautiful time here, Pisa was okay, but Florence is amazing :) We painstakingly climbed 463 steps up to the top of the Duomo, got amazing views, gawked at churches (what else) which weirdly I didn't notice how beautiful they are or I must have forgotten when I came here 3 years ago. And the best part of today was getting our souvenir, a watercolour painting of Florence. We saw this particular artist with some of his paintings near San Lorenzo, and we were contemplating on getting it. After looking at other artists' and vendors' collections, we decided to go back to him but the initial one we wanted was already sold. But! We saw a work in progress at the side of his chair, not yet ready to be displayed. We asked if we could have him complete it and he sa

Nothing Like Home

I hate London. I don't know why people love this place so much. It sucks. The air here sucks. It's dirty, pollen infested, dirty, smelly and just not the kind of air you wanna breathe in. Bleah. I don't like the medical facilities either. Wayyy too comfortable with Singapore's. I don't like the hooligans especially the youngsters. Feel like slapping and punching them. If any one of them was killed in some fight, I'd say good riddance. The only nice thing about this place is that their customer service (for some retail shops) are amazing. Very friendly. But other than that, I miss my Singapore very much. I can't wait for us to be back in our own home. Yup. I'm a spoilt Singaporean brat who thinks there's no other better place than home. I won't ever want to step into this country again unless there's no other choice.

Boring Me

Aww man! Whole day of rain today! And I was planning to go market and do laundry! Darn. Life has been pretty much boring and monotonous. Oh except the Thursday sushi date. But other than that, ya. Boring. Same old same old. Weekends aren't like weekends. How should a weekend be anyway? I don't know. Shopping and movies and eating out? Other Half tried studying in the park but it wasn't that helpful. Definitely not for reading. And I was bored so I kept disturbing him huhu. Loads of Arabs there! Goodness. But the most interesting thing? A couple having sex. Yes. In the park. First it was making out, then it went to sex or some groping or other. Different positions summore. Wahlau eh. People were watching haha. It's gross! Other Half says they look underaged, though I don't think so. And they weren't like, in the deeper part of the park. They were near the road! A car even stopped to look. HAHA. Terrible. I have a lump in my throat. Yesterday I felt it only wh

Gloom Sunshine Air Marriage

It's a boring, boring day. And gloomy too. I can't decide if gloomy's better than sunny. The sun here's quite bad, and it's not even summer yet. Too glaring! And hermit me spends most of the time in this small little room, maybe my eyes have been too accustomed to the lighting in the room instead. When I go out it's like a vampire in the sun. But seriously! It's bad sun here! At least in Singapore there's clouds to cover the sun. Luckily today and yesterday, it's gloomy and raining after many days of sun. Well the trees need water too once in a few weeks. Thinking of getting a pair of sunglasses since I forgot to bring mine. Went to a shop yesterday, didn't seem to have many frames to choose from :s And a lot of them are narrow! How to fit a wide, huge face like mine! Some of the frames I tried, the nose bridge didn't even sit on my nose. It was hanging. Bleah. Feeling pukish again. The air? Or staring too much into the computer? Or my po

Ambitious Much?

Ultimate bummer of the year: freakin' wedding clashes on FFL's wedding. Basket !^%^$#@^#! First, it was two weddings. Then I thought, okay fine, I'll go the nikah for the other one. BUT. BOTH have nikah at the same day around the same time. Doesn't help that the wedding will be held like wayyy east. And then, the most bummerful of them all if there's such a word, another wedding I can't escape. Seriously. I even dreamt that I would be able to skip, but as usual, dreams are opposite of reality :((((( This weekend we might be going Birmingham, and maybe somewhere else too. Wheee!! Hope the weather is nice enough like yesterday! Stop it with the cold winds and rain and grey clouds already! Spring is past due! Speaking of yesterday! After days of not being tourists, we went to the Westminster area for a stroll. Fotos yet to be uploaded. Maybe tomorrow. Lovely blue sky is back! At least for yesterday. And the temperature was bearable! Not the wintery chill! Yayn

Love From Dubai

I am sleeeeepy. London time is 2am now. I should be sleeping but I'm not! Sian. I foresee a long jet lag he he he. I've just got for myself the best seat! It's those long reclining chairs that's always taken, plus ! I'm beside the notebook charger! And! Near my gate! Woohoo! I don't want to move!!! I don't care I'm sitting here until, hmm, gate closing! HAHAHAHA. Like real. Reminder to self: pee before boarding. Oh but then again, I'll have an aisle seat later! Whee~ I haven't blogged anything about London eh this time? And Andalucia too! Too much, you see. I didn't even keep a travel journal. But to sum it up, I feel like I just had the best four weeks of my life :) Very cliche, but isn't it so wonderful when it's true? Life with Other Half just keeps getting better. And it'll get better insyaAllah! Oh man my eyes are just waayyyy too dry. I need to sleep! Actually I need to pee. Haha! I could have used the time to uplo

Here We Come

Andalucia here we come!!!! Wheeeee~

And so the countdown begins...

After procrastinating and searching and searching, I've finally bought the ticket. Now I feel like I should've looked some more. But then! The airfares are crazy! They increase overnight! Literally! Sian ah. Come to think of it, okay lah not so bad. Just have to do a little bit more logistics stuff that's all. After all it's a decent airline, with a cool 30kg luggage allowance. 56 more days. I'm coming!

We've Moved In!

We have moved in!!! Yay! :) Very tiring process of moving and setting up. 3 huge luggage + 2 small luggage + boxes of new kitchen appliances + loose kitchen appliances in plastic bags. After which, getting groceries from the shopping city nearby. Heavy lah! I shall go get the trolley or grocery bags, at least. Poor Other Half had to carry rice + chicken + probably 2 kilos worth of bananas + other stuff. Of course, I had to carry things too but less heavy lah hehe. But still! Our arms fell like dropping off the shoulders. Did I mention I LOVEEEE shopping city?! It's like Oxford St right here in Turnpike Lane! Coolness! I shall explore more. Oh oh! And there's M&S Outlet!! Outlet! I love this place :D Monday I think I shall rot at home and be a good housewife. Haha! I sooooooooo do not wish to go back Singapore :(((((((((

Interesting Person

We've been meeting lovely people here, Alhamdulillah :) Today, we chanced upon a Malaysian lady. At first we saw her at the school campus, and she smiled at us, so we smiled back. Other Half and I concluded she's a Malay, and probably teaches Malay Studies at the campus. Turns out, we're right! Haha! I bumped into her when I was wandering in the campus looking for a bookshop. Then we started to get to know each other. Coincidentally, Other Half completed his registration. He joined us, and since we too have not eaten lunch, she graciously offered to bring us to this Malaysian restaurant. Food there's not bad! I had Mee Bandung, and it's pretty good! I don't really know what Mee Bandung tastes like actually, but who cares! This is good! Hahaha. A little ex, though. The place is called Tuk Din, somewhere in Paddington/ Sussex Gardens. The woman we met? Whoa. Seems like she's hobnobbed with some big shots! She's a journalist/ freelance writer whos

Exploring London by Foot

Morning! It's almost 6am here. I wanna do a recount of yesterday's events. Quite a long day! In the morning, Other Half has his orientation for international students. We left a little early thinking we had to take the bus instead of the tube as there were engineering works along the Jubilee Line we were taking. But! As it turns out, in London's many interconnecting lines, we could get away without taking the bus. Cool! We reached King's Cross a wee bit early, so we stopped for a cup of hot chocolate and light breakfast. Thinking that all the kebab stalls are closed, we tried this sandwich shop just opposite of the tube station. I had tuna sandwich, and the tuna serving is way better than those sanwiches found in Singapore's 7-11. I kept one sandwich in my bag, just in case I got hungry later, a highily likely situation. Haha! Off we went to find his school, about a 5 to 10 minutes' walk from the station. The weather's cold today! Nice :) We found hi
