Day Off with Baby Boy

Took the day off yesterday cos my mum had to take care of her baby boy (HAHA) so I took care of mine :) It was the first time we sent him to school. We went to work cos I had to settle some slides even though I was on leave, and later I fetched him from school. Junior was so bubbly and happy :) Love seeing him so carefree and enjoying life. After I settled work stuff, we took the public transport like he has longed wanted, so it was the bus and train! Junior entertained mama's selfies hahahaha :) We stopped by the Lego shop too to get more parts for his building Lego collection. Waiting for the train to come! And yes I got the reserved seat woohoo! By the time we reached our MRT stop, he was tired so we too a taxi home instead of another bus. He too said he was tired. Aww my poor little boy. Almost fell asleep in the taxi. But once he reached home, he has a sudden release of energy and was off singing and talking again. We did his Lego set, sooo difficult to g

I Only Look Forward to Weekends

It's only Monday but I'm looking forward to the weekend. Just had a great weekend which started off on Friday with a long overdue date with Other Half. In our daily routined lives and busy work schedule, we tend to forget how to have fun and dates like these are meaningful and necessary reminders :) Back to planning for this weekend! Besides weddings (yup the season's here again), I have thought of a couple of things to do, especially with Junior. 1) Apple cupcakes. I have like 7 apples at home, 5 of which are green and bought for the sole intention of baking no way am I going to eat them raw haha, so off as apple cakes they go! I'm going to repeat the recipe I used before since it was a success. Since I'm going to chop the apples, I think I'll get Junior involved so he can play with the apples and batter :) 2) Go to the library. I have to get for us travel books on Lombok. Have not done much research as a dutiful travel planner and besides, I would real

Junior Loves Play

Had a superb weekend which means I'm sooo having the Monday blues. I love "just us" weekends. Husband had to attend a two day convention but skipped some sessions. Me and Junior was at home the whole time except Saturday afternoon where we went for early dinner and walked around Vivo. Vivo was quite an experience hahaha. I know it's family and children friendly but Junior wasn't keen on walking around on his own yet so we didn't really take note of such places until last Saturday. We have tried to let him walk around but he was choosy with the places. We first went into Toys R Us to get him warmed up, and warmed up he was! He couldn't wait to get out of the stroller! Once out, he happily roamed free, trying out this toy and that, wanted to make friends with GIRLS omg Junior you're too young, and when we carried him, he wanted to be put back down so he could walk. We literally had to scoop him up, hold him tight because he was squirming around

Weekend Cookout

Weekend was filled with cooking! Okay I cheated on Sunday cos we went my mum's house to cook haha, but Saturday itself was tiring enough! Invited in-laws ++ over for Husband's famous chicken rice and I made sago gula melaka. MIL made sweet sour fish too which was yummy! We wanted to make stir fry vege but at the last minute our stove's spark wasn't working!! Like wth! Oh wells. Luckily the chicken is all cooked! Maybe I'll make the stir fry today for sahur. So after 2 pots of rice, two kilos of chicken fried, three times of boiling sago, 5 big bottles of bandung, we ended up with one messy kitchen but it was all worth it! I am so fortunate to have a husband that cooks well :) Then we went to Geylang after that. Ha. The mandatory, not-my-fave-place-to-visit bazaar. And time flew while we were there! We didn't realise it was almost midnight! Poor Junior fell asleep in his pram :( I wasn't in any shopping mood at all because I was worried about Junior. Any

I'm Crawling!

Yesterday was one tiring day. Practically an entire day of attending to Junior. And he's at this clingy stage where he doesn't really want anyone else except dearest Mama. An almost 11 kilo baby will definitely tire out your arms no matter how much muscle you have! And I don't have any, hurhur. I always fail/just pass my chin ups for fitness tests in school. We went to a wedding, and surprisingly Junior fell asleep in my arms without nursing! He must be really sleepy. Husband had a meeting after that, so we spent our time at the mosque nearby while waiting for two and a half hours. It was a great place to just hang around, cos it was kinda empty and open, perfect for Junior to practise crawling! Which he did, of course :) And he was friendly to the other ladies at the mosque too! Haha Junior happily playing with his teething toy before he started crawling. And off he goes!! I used his teething toy and the water bottle as bait. Crawl crawl crawl. Stopp

His Birthday Weekend

Birthday celebrations are never one day affairs these days. We started off with the Battleship movie which I totally was against watching previously, but because it's the boy's birthday, I reluctantly agreed. And I loved it! The plot was kinda normal bang boosh shoot shoot stuff, but there's humour and I especially like the Jap guy who was made co-captain! His ideas are awesome. Oh! And the part where the navy veterans helped out too! Enjoyed the entire two hours haha! Birthday boy gave me that "see I told you it's good" look when the movie ended. Heh. Fine fine I'll join u in such movies again next time haha. Saturday, I planned for a morning picnic at Botanic Gardens and a visit to the farmers' market for some yummy cupcakes but it rained the entire morning so we had to change plan: lazed around at home for a bit and then off to the market to get ingredients for big feast (birthday boy's request). The rain subsided in the later part of the m

Awesomest Weekend!

This is the first week (or that I can remember) that we have the whole weekend to ourselves. No extended family, no errands to run, and best of all, The Husband didn't think about work. Absolute family time. And we totally enjoyed it! Saturday morning we went to the market, bought some groceries for cooking my favourite Sindhi Briyani (yumyum!) for the day, and bought Junior's home clothes. Then we lazed around at home till late afternoon and went out for a bit of shopping. Junior's first time in a pram in Orchard! But he didn't last long, about two hours only -_-" Sunday we went out too, had a simple dinner at Charco's and went to Ikea. We were supposed to go to the beach for a sunset walk but it was pretty hot even at 5 in the evening. Oh and did I mention the sun!! Omg the hot hot sun! PERFECT for drying clothes! So perfect, I washed clothes on both days! Totally love it hahahaha. Okay I know I sound so housewife-ish. Here's Junior in the car

Exploring London by Foot

Morning! It's almost 6am here. I wanna do a recount of yesterday's events. Quite a long day! In the morning, Other Half has his orientation for international students. We left a little early thinking we had to take the bus instead of the tube as there were engineering works along the Jubilee Line we were taking. But! As it turns out, in London's many interconnecting lines, we could get away without taking the bus. Cool! We reached King's Cross a wee bit early, so we stopped for a cup of hot chocolate and light breakfast. Thinking that all the kebab stalls are closed, we tried this sandwich shop just opposite of the tube station. I had tuna sandwich, and the tuna serving is way better than those sanwiches found in Singapore's 7-11. I kept one sandwich in my bag, just in case I got hungry later, a highily likely situation. Haha! Off we went to find his school, about a 5 to 10 minutes' walk from the station. The weather's cold today! Nice :) We found hi

Forgotten Sports & Stuff

I went cycling last Saturday! Changi Beach to ECP. Fun :) The last time I cycled was probably 10 years ago, ignoring the one where I rode a twin bicycle hehe. That one I shall not count cos I didn't have to do the balancing, steering and even the heavy cycling HEHE. Can you believe it! I sort of forgot how to cycle! My balancing in the beginning was terrible, my cornering even worse. Tsk. But but. We is faci, so we should be the ones that take care of the kids, not the kids take care of us. So somehow, I had to quickly get used to the bicycle hahaha. Cycling is not the only sport I forgot. Golf is another. Goodness. My swing is terrible. I was very happy the golf ball shot up can! My first few swings, hancur! I was hitting the air. Sigh. I wonder if I forgot how to swim... Hmm. The CSI Las Vegas team should do an investigation on Wisteria Lane. Less than two months to go! Wheee~ :) I went Anchorpoint, and to my disappointment, I went back empty handed. EMPTY. Not even a p

Best Boss.Hunger Punger.Lousy Layout

I would like to say a BIIIGGGG thank you to my boss for all that he did to make the good news of yesterday and today happen. I think I shall renew the star sticker of "Best Head in the World". For the new office lah maybe haha. I skipped dinner and now I'm reaally hungry. Bad bad habit. Remember what Confucius disciple said, no dinner yesterday make you hungry man/woman at 7am, 9am, 11am in the morning. Looks like my tummy will be having an earthquake every now and then tomorrow morning. Important date to note: 27 April 2009!! :))) Hopefully there's no complications! Yesterday I went to Sembawang Shopping Centre. I don't like the parking there. Firstly, they're wasting space. More lots could have been built! Secondly, they'll let in cars as long as there's an empty lot. Which is the norm, except for the fact that even handicapped lots are included! Like hello!! You let me in, I dun have a sticker, where you expect me to park you tell me!!! So, I

Saturday Faster Come!

I'm suuuuuupperrr happy. Very the happy :D Cos I won't be rotting by myself this weekend!! Woohoo~ It will be my first time going for National Day Parade!! Yes, 23 and I've yet to go for NDP nor its rehearsal!! Hehe gonna have fun :) Being patriotic, lights, and best of all, fireworks!! I is very excited!! Thank u :)

The Fun Never Stops

Today's amazing. Just amazing. This morning's low tide, like negative 0.2 metres low, perfect day to go Chek Jawa! Yeah, I know, last week I just went. Hahahaha. But but. It rained. HEAVILY. It didn't stop us from doing the board walk! Hehe. So of course we were soaking wet. Like really really wet. The winds were pretty strong too, blowing everywhere. My jeans were stuck to my legs, and I water was squishing out everytime I stepped on the ground. Wahahahaha. We decided to go on with it since we were there already, doesn't matter if people think we're crazy, cos we had fun in the rain :) Couldn't see starfishes and crabs cos it's raining, duh, they wouldn't wanna be out bathing in the rain rite, but we saw this prawn thingy, and crayfish. I was told it's a crayfish. Haha. There's also seagrass, and barnacles. The thing about doing the boardwalk in the rain is, there's no one else! Haha! Shiok rite! :D After that we were in town to find part of

Chek Jawa & Sorts

Saturday was a hectic day. Morning I went to Chek Jawa at Pulau Ubin, was pretty tired after that. On the bus back home, my mum called to say they'll be fetching me from wherever I am and then off we went to Subaru car showroom. Wahhhh I is liking Subaru WRX S-GT!!! I don't like the design, but the engine!! Whoa!!! 250bhp can!! Double that of Swift Sport's!! And the gear shift is the tiptronic kind, wah damn fun lah! I tell you, if me and my dad went for the test drive, we'll be super duper tempted to buy. For that kind of power, the car's cheap cheap!! Hehe. After that we went back, I got ready to go out yet again for the NTUMS Alumni Dinner. Met up with the adhoc peeps, haha pecah perut lah u guys! And I met some unexpected colleagues there too! It is really a small world. Haha. Anyway!! Chek Jawa! That was my first time in any Singapore pulau except Sentosa. Wahahahaha. You really wouldn't believe that place belongs to Singapore. It's so laid back, so kam
