Board Books!

I was browsing an online shop for books for Junior, and I decided, hey! Why not make my own board books! Toddlers' board books looks simple, anyway! Got searching for some inspiration, and these websites are good: Simple blank images that will strike well with babies! http://homemadebyjill.blogspot.com/2008/11/homemade-board-books.html Flip open to see what's behind! So cute! I'm definitely trying this! http://www.instructables.com/id/Make-a-Custom-Lift-the-Flap-Book-for-a-Toddler/?ALLSTEPS And this makes use of scrap papers which I have LOADS of. http://naptimecrafters.blogspot.com/2011/04/diy-board-book_11.html For a start I could try with shapes and colours! Oooh and material too! Paste felt material, feather, foil that sorta stuff. Then maybe one for the road for our little holiday next week, make it as we go along. Ah I'm so excited thinking about it! Haha! I do hope I'll do this and it's not just another project in my dreams. Like the other time I w

Love Saturday Mornings

I had a very entertaining AAM session today even though we were missing one student and one mentor. Haha. Today the boys were extra noisy, especially one of them. Since we ended earlier, they shared stories, like PSLE results. Haha. And they know who Other Half is. He taught them for a while a few years ago. And! One of the boys is a colleague's son. HAHA. Small world eh. I told them I will be going London for quite some time, I'll have just one more lesson with them before I fly off, then they asked, "Alah! Abeh Kakak tak boleh datang for the camp!!" Yeah, I can't :( I know the camp will be the ultimate bonding session with the students, even if I don't teach them, but I know they'll be wonderful nonetheless. When I come back they should be all psyched up for O Levels! I really hope this batch will do well. They deserve it. The kids are great. The reason I wake up a lil earlier each Saturday morning and teach. One of the few things I like to do volunt

campINC: Heartwarming

It is so heartwarming to hear the kids saying they enjoy and love the camp. Makes the effort and muscle aches worthwhile :) Hopefully it benefited them a lot. And not just the camp, but our mentoring sessions as well.

Double

I asked my fellow AAMer what it's like to be married. She says, when you're happy, you're double-happy, but when you're sad or angry, it doubles too. I think I know what she means.

campINC: MockCamp

Today was definitely a fun day! :) Went for mock camp! Super tiring lah, I really can't run you know. The last time I went jogging was... Err... Can't remember. Haha! And hor, not like my jogging is power lah. I is super slow. As long as it's not walking, I'll call it jogging. HAHA. Gone are the days of getting NAPFA test timings... Anyway! I am glad I went for this, even though I don't really know the people there. Haven't been meeting new people a lot. I'm quite an anti-social. Need to mix more. It's fun to relive the uni days of camps and games. Camps like this brings back memories of the fun fun times. A deviation from the usual working life. It's enriching, refreshing. Makes me feel young. Wahahaha! Not that I'm old, but being with undergrads brings back to uni days! Oh how I love those years :) Best schooling years of my life! And... It's been ages since I went for a school camp! Ooh! Someone said I look young too! Whee~ AHHAHA. Oh well

Yang Menemaninya

Today I shall tell you more stories of my kids. One girl asked me why I'm not a teacher. I asked why, and she said "kakak ada tokoh jadi cikgu". HAHAHAHA. I told her if I wanted to be a teacher, I would've taken a degree in Maths. Me? Teacher? Haha... Maybe lah har... Mid life crisis maybe. Right now I'm happy just teaching once a week haha. This one is relates to the same girl. I asked her what's her understanding of coefficient. Her answer? "Yang menemaninya." (translate: the one that accompanies) HAHAHAHA!!! Yeah I get what she says, but it sounds so funny! Menemaninya. Hahaha. Good answer :) The boys told me what they did yesterday night in school, such a riot. Literally. Haha. I shall not say what they did. I feel tired. Mentally I guess. And I don't know why, I just want to be pampered. Not that I'm not, but ya, I feel like I want to be pampered NOW. Haha. It's 9pm. I should sleep soon. Ha.

My Chem Boys

My Saturday mornings are a deviation from the usual work weekdays. Something I look forward to :) I had more than usual boys for chem cos my 2 co-mentors were not around. But it was a joy to take them in, these boys are cute. Smart kids. Sometimes they ask for extra notes, which I will gladly provide them. When you see that they want to learn, makes your effort worthwhile. Haha sometimes they show off their extra notes to their peers even. Funny lah these kids. One of them keeps calling me "cher". Haha. He's a little peculiar, in his own world, but very smart. Another asked me whether I know the chemical formula of urine and sweat. I said I didn't know, and with all enthusiasm, he said, "Formula dia sama! Betullll!! Nanti kak gi google." Hahahaha. I thought that's not possible, but I said okay, I'll go check. Then another asked, kalau sama formula, then kenapa kita nyer air sembahyang batal bila kencing tapi tak batal kalau berpeluh? HAHA.
