Wake Up and Smell the Cake

Ah. My iTunes brought me to Hoobastank's From The Heart. Reminded me of those days I'd drive my dad's (ah beng) car to school and blast the speakers with my awesome Hoobastank CD. I really really love the songs on the CD! I got it because of their popular hit, The Reason. Didn't regret buying! Haha. But I'm quite disappointed with the lead singer's inability to sing their songs live. Can't reach some of the high notes. Bleah. Oh well. In baking news, I am craving for rich chocolate cake. As per my previous post I ran out of castor sugar, and so I'm contemplating on (finally) using my Optima flour since it already has sugar. But I haven't found a rich chocolate cake recipe using Optima flour. I could improvise, but I don't know if it'll work. Maybe I'll work with a small amount first. Hope to try today, unless my boys wanna sleep early. Or maybe I can try these Triple Fudge Oreo Cookies or Double Chocolate Chunk Cookies . Interesti

So on the way back to office, I beat the red light at that unnecessary traffic light near MacRitchie specially installed for all these rich buggers who play golf at the posh country club nearby. Other times I beat or choose not to beat (hey, I'm not always a reckless driver haha) the red light, I make decisions swiftly. But not just now! This is not good. I saw the light change, and I braked. Not once, but twice. But it wasn't enough to stop the car in time, so I stepped on the accelerator instead. Why in the world did I brake when I know I couldn't make it!! Darn. I do hope the cameras didn't catch me. Or else I'd have to say I thought I was going into labour and I needed to rush to the hospital. Hahaha. Bought a whole tiramisu cake, hopefully it'll stay intact. Can't find a fridge big enough to accommodate it. My sister thought that tiramisu has coconut milk. Wonder where she got that idea from. And!! My dear sister-in-law bought this for Junior! H

Let's see what I've been up to. NOT cooking because I have mother dearest doing that already. Haha! And besides, my cooking is not up to her standard. I WATCHED TWILIGHT. Not on purpose, though. The many many cable channels didn't have anything interesting this morning. And I was waiting to watch my ultimate fave cartoon. Speaking of which!! I am so disappointed to know that it runs only for 15 minutes!! Cartoons, especially good ones like this, should run for a full 30 minutes! Anyway. Back to Twilight. Not bad lah the movie. It's not like a chick flick or what. I like Edward's parents. Such sweet people. And they are 'vegetarians'. Cool! Self restraint. Even vampires have self restraint. I threw away some old clothes! Mainly because my mum is running out of hangers. Hahahaha. Freed up nine, I think maybe can afford to free up more. But then again, I'll be quickly using them again to put new clothes. Wahahaha. Washing the car makes you appreciate and care for it more. The pain I felt when little drops of water splashed on the car! Not rain, no. If it were raindrops, it'll be slightly different. I like to see the droplets slide off the windscreen, still in the shape of a round water bubble. But no, it's those really small splashes from the trees or from another car that's too light to move. Argh! The horror! The marks they'll leave behind! Now that we're moving to a smaller and more affordable studio, I won't have my full blown oven anymore :( No more cakes or lasagne! Sian. We have a microwave instead, and I'm on the lookout for recipes using the microwave! Or cooking using just the stove. Like kuih bakar or something. HAHA. Very confident hor! :D Never mind I shall try! I do hope the new studio will be wonderful! :) Ten more so-near-yet-so-far days! Can't wait can't wait! ♥

Today I washed and waxed the car. Haha! Never before man. Though my patience was running out when waxing already -_-" And I didn't do a full cleaning. Next time lah hor. Which won't be anytime soon since next weekend I'll be busy! :) Maybe washing the car can be another of my escapes, just like scrubbing. HAHA. The second first! Yesterday was my first time driving in JB. The fun part was going home. With me and SIL only. Hehe! We detoured, and dunoe went where, and! We ended up at my relative's house. HAHA. From there we were on track already, and stopped by City Square. Okay lah. Doesn't seem as daunting. You just have to avoid getting into any form of accident. I can't wait for you to bring me on our Malaysian road trip :)

Yup! My first ride on a bike on 7 May 2009! Whee~~ It was impromptu! I needed to tompang someone to the place we were going to play captain's ball. So I tompang-ed my fren! Not a big bike la, sth like scooter? Haha I dunoe. But I know it was fun!! Even though the distance was short, it was pretty cool! Hahaha.. Especially the selit part! Goodness! Scary can! Hahaha. I don't mind having another ride!! :))) A Brad Pitt invited me to his wedding on the 24th! Woohoo! Fun fun! :))) All you budak-budak Nanyang Tech MS who's reading this (I dunoe who else reads this blog anymore) do tell me if they've been invited! :) I'm bored. I would like to say a BIIIGGGG thank you to my boss for all that he did to make the good news of yesterday and today happen. I think I shall renew the star sticker of "Best Head in the World". For the new office lah maybe haha. I skipped dinner and now I'm reaally hungry. Bad bad habit. I went to Mustafa! By myself!! Hahahahaha Today is the only day this week that I drive. It feels good to hold the steering wheel again. Vroom vroom babey~!!! So. That feeling of independence, coupled with my evening mood of not wanting to hurry home, I thought I'd do some me-time shopping or wandering around. Anyway Novena shopping malls were tempting me to pay them a visit. But but! I ended up at Mustafa! Haha! I decided to do a little unnecessary grocery shopping NTUC would have been fine, but it was getting a little late, so what better place than the 24-hour shopping centre! Haha! I always go there with my family, never alone. But it was okay nonetheless. Hello hello~!! Today, the ever kaypoh BBC will tell about this girl in the neighbourhood who has a Lamborghini boyfriend! How often does that happen!! Lambo, you say?
