Red Light & Superman

So on the way back to office, I beat the red light at that unnecessary traffic light near MacRitchie specially installed for all these rich buggers who play golf at the posh country club nearby. Other times I beat or choose not to beat (hey, I'm not always a reckless driver haha) the red light, I make decisions swiftly.

But not just now! This is not good.

I saw the light change, and I braked. Not once, but twice. But it wasn't enough to stop the car in time, so I stepped on the accelerator instead. Why in the world did I brake when I know I couldn't make it!! Darn. I do hope the cameras didn't catch me. Or else I'd have to say I thought I was going into labour and I needed to rush to the hospital. Hahaha.

Bought a whole tiramisu cake, hopefully it'll stay intact. Can't find a fridge big enough to accommodate it. My sister thought that tiramisu has coconut milk. Wonder where she got that idea from.

And!! My dear sister-in-law bought this for Junior! Hahahaha!! It is absolutely adorable! I laughed out loud when I saw this foto! Thank you Auntie Sophie! ♥

Superman! Hahaha!! I'm sure my dear husband will sigh and shake his head. Huahuahua!

Up up and awayyy!!! :)

CNY Bakes

Back from the long weekend! Spent two days fully at home, cooking and baking. So happy. Day 1 was sindhi briyani and Almond London . Day 2 was ayam lemak cili padi and a batch of almost Famous Amos chocolate chip cookies , but I split the batter into 2: hazelnut, white chocolate, cranberry combination and hazelnut, dark chocolate chip combination. I made the cranberry ones first, they taste awesome. But after I ate the chocolate chip one, say bye bye to cranberry! Nothing beats chocolate. And the white chocolate chips somehow dissolved into the batter, melted. What to do, it's just white chips from Redman. I should try a better brand instead.  Happy new year indeed!

White Chocolate Cranberry Oatmeal Bars

I love these! It's like a blondie but to make me feel less guilty, there's oatmeal. Was supposed to make these and freeze for easy morning breakfasts, but seems like they ran out pretty quickly that it didn't require that much freezing. Original recipe here . I made these almost three months ago and I still think about making these again and again. White Chocolate Cranberry Oatmeal Bars 2 1/2 cups old fashioned oats 2 cups flour 1 1/2 cups brown sugar 1 teaspoon baking soda 1 teaspoon salt 1 tablespoon vanilla 2 large eggs 1 1/4 cups butter melted 1 cups white chocolate chips 1 cup dried cranberries This is like one bowl mix so anything goes. Spread batter in two 8x8 square tins, bake for 22 min at 180 degrees Celsius.

Daiso Ramekins

Finally finally went to Daiso!! Wanted to go there for ages already! The first thing I came in, went to the cooking section. Found my ramekins! But they're not white. Oh wells. Can't be choosy for $2 ramekins! There were white ones, but super small white ramekins. And pie tarts too! Oooh so tempting! But I don't know when I'll make tarts hurhur. Actually I'm still thinking what I should bake using these ramekins. I remember having one of those "I wish I had ramekins right now" moments but I can't remember when. Maybe when I was making lava cake . Daiso is evil. It's so cheap you just feel like coming back again! Oh and did I mention there's a $2 weighing scale?! Measures up to a kilo but that's quite alright for baking isn't it! I mean, $2!! Dirt cheap lah. Not sure about the accuracy though. Didn't do much cleaning last weekend, very much spent lazing around at home just like what weekends should be like. I love being at ho
