Leaving Soon

Tomorrow is Monday. Last few days here before I fly back home. Damn that's fast! Hopefully the next few weeks will pass by quickly too, and Other Half can go back home soon and say BYE BYE to London. I don't ever want to come back here unless needed. Back in Singapore, we'll have the house to settle. Renovation and furniture! Still quite undecided on how we're going to do the house. Especially with budget constraints. Have to start looking for furniture ideas when I get back! Anyone wanna follow me? Haha.

I'm doing my kiasu stunt again of going back to work less than a day after touch down. This time it'll be crazier cos the night I come back, it's World Cup finals baby!! Straight no nonsense Germany versus boring Holland. And Germany will win, duh. Then back to work a few hours after that! Not that I haven't been working (okay you can disagree on this haha!), but I'll be back at my desk! Must be dusty... Yucks. Loads to catch up!

I bought a maxi dress. Again. There's just too many designs! I wish I could buy them all!! Can I? Can I???? Oh I will wear them all! I swear! I'll keep it as my future collection of clothes! Heehee. But I'm running dry on cash. I've limited my spending money here. Stashed most of it somewhere unwithdrawable. Haha! Actually I should be spending my money on office clothes instead. Bah.

Celebrated my twenty-fifth birthday :) But I got my present like a week in advance heehee! AWESOME red ostrich with bamboo. Go figure :D Thank you darling!! Had two birthday feasts for greedy me hahaha, Nando's and a place called Kitchin N1 which serves Asian buffet. Not bad for the price! I ate more cake than food perhaps. Four slices yumyum. Haha! Nice place. And today we have cake! :)

Aah. Cake. I want to bake for Other Half but there's no oven. Sigh. Maybe I'll make other stuff to last him the next few days after I leave.

Leave. Sigh. Hopefully he will be able to come back soon.

CNY Bakes

Back from the long weekend! Spent two days fully at home, cooking and baking. So happy. Day 1 was sindhi briyani and Almond London . Day 2 was ayam lemak cili padi and a batch of almost Famous Amos chocolate chip cookies , but I split the batter into 2: hazelnut, white chocolate, cranberry combination and hazelnut, dark chocolate chip combination. I made the cranberry ones first, they taste awesome. But after I ate the chocolate chip one, say bye bye to cranberry! Nothing beats chocolate. And the white chocolate chips somehow dissolved into the batter, melted. What to do, it's just white chips from Redman. I should try a better brand instead.  Happy new year indeed!

White Chocolate Cranberry Oatmeal Bars

I love these! It's like a blondie but to make me feel less guilty, there's oatmeal. Was supposed to make these and freeze for easy morning breakfasts, but seems like they ran out pretty quickly that it didn't require that much freezing. Original recipe here . I made these almost three months ago and I still think about making these again and again. White Chocolate Cranberry Oatmeal Bars 2 1/2 cups old fashioned oats 2 cups flour 1 1/2 cups brown sugar 1 teaspoon baking soda 1 teaspoon salt 1 tablespoon vanilla 2 large eggs 1 1/4 cups butter melted 1 cups white chocolate chips 1 cup dried cranberries This is like one bowl mix so anything goes. Spread batter in two 8x8 square tins, bake for 22 min at 180 degrees Celsius.

Daiso Ramekins

Finally finally went to Daiso!! Wanted to go there for ages already! The first thing I came in, went to the cooking section. Found my ramekins! But they're not white. Oh wells. Can't be choosy for $2 ramekins! There were white ones, but super small white ramekins. And pie tarts too! Oooh so tempting! But I don't know when I'll make tarts hurhur. Actually I'm still thinking what I should bake using these ramekins. I remember having one of those "I wish I had ramekins right now" moments but I can't remember when. Maybe when I was making lava cake . Daiso is evil. It's so cheap you just feel like coming back again! Oh and did I mention there's a $2 weighing scale?! Measures up to a kilo but that's quite alright for baking isn't it! I mean, $2!! Dirt cheap lah. Not sure about the accuracy though. Didn't do much cleaning last weekend, very much spent lazing around at home just like what weekends should be like. I love being at ho
