Ambitious Much?

Ultimate bummer of the year: freakin' wedding clashes on FFL's wedding. Basket !^%^$#@^#! First, it was two weddings. Then I thought, okay fine, I'll go the nikah for the other one. BUT. BOTH have nikah at the same day around the same time. Doesn't help that the wedding will be held like wayyy east. And then, the most bummerful of them all if there's such a word, another wedding I can't escape. Seriously. I even dreamt that I would be able to skip, but as usual, dreams are opposite of reality :(((((

This weekend we might be going Birmingham, and maybe somewhere else too. Wheee!! Hope the weather is nice enough like yesterday! Stop it with the cold winds and rain and grey clouds already! Spring is past due!

Speaking of yesterday! After days of not being tourists, we went to the Westminster area for a stroll. Fotos yet to be uploaded. Maybe tomorrow. Lovely blue sky is back! At least for yesterday. And the temperature was bearable! Not the wintery chill! Yayness! Since it was Easter, almost everyone walking around were tourists. Practically everyone has a camera in hand or hanging from the neck including me. Haha! Quite fun actually :)

Yay! I see my first spam from official-body-of-bean-counters! Yahoo! So does that mean I'm accepted as their provisional member? Haha. So exciting! Maybe I should ask my mum if their registered mail has come in!!! Lame, I know. Hmm. I do hope I get admitted, for the unconventional jobscope that I have. Not so straight forward but at least it's related. Please please please!! I wanna be a full member cum October!

Housewife updates!

Cooking has gotten better, in my not-so-humble opinion. I'm spending much more on groceries that when Other Half was here alone. In my defence, I buy lotsa other stuff, not all are junk food. Proper, delicious food requires more ingredients, naturally. Other Half says I'm feeding him too much. Am I? Hmm. I should serve smaller portions, then. I'm thinking of cooking briyani tomorrow! Or at least the day after that :) Hope it'll turn out sedap giler! Maybe if I'm free enough, or bored enough, I'd do curry puffs. Been ages since my mum did them, I used to help but since it's so long ago I can't really remember much. Oh! I don't have a circle mould! Argh damn. I hope I can find something similar. Or. Odd shaped curry puff it is!! HAHAHAHA. Okay. Maybe Wednesday or Thursday. Getting wayyy too ambitious here.

CNY Bakes

Back from the long weekend! Spent two days fully at home, cooking and baking. So happy. Day 1 was sindhi briyani and Almond London . Day 2 was ayam lemak cili padi and a batch of almost Famous Amos chocolate chip cookies , but I split the batter into 2: hazelnut, white chocolate, cranberry combination and hazelnut, dark chocolate chip combination. I made the cranberry ones first, they taste awesome. But after I ate the chocolate chip one, say bye bye to cranberry! Nothing beats chocolate. And the white chocolate chips somehow dissolved into the batter, melted. What to do, it's just white chips from Redman. I should try a better brand instead.  Happy new year indeed!

White Chocolate Cranberry Oatmeal Bars

I love these! It's like a blondie but to make me feel less guilty, there's oatmeal. Was supposed to make these and freeze for easy morning breakfasts, but seems like they ran out pretty quickly that it didn't require that much freezing. Original recipe here . I made these almost three months ago and I still think about making these again and again. White Chocolate Cranberry Oatmeal Bars 2 1/2 cups old fashioned oats 2 cups flour 1 1/2 cups brown sugar 1 teaspoon baking soda 1 teaspoon salt 1 tablespoon vanilla 2 large eggs 1 1/4 cups butter melted 1 cups white chocolate chips 1 cup dried cranberries This is like one bowl mix so anything goes. Spread batter in two 8x8 square tins, bake for 22 min at 180 degrees Celsius.

Daiso Ramekins

Finally finally went to Daiso!! Wanted to go there for ages already! The first thing I came in, went to the cooking section. Found my ramekins! But they're not white. Oh wells. Can't be choosy for $2 ramekins! There were white ones, but super small white ramekins. And pie tarts too! Oooh so tempting! But I don't know when I'll make tarts hurhur. Actually I'm still thinking what I should bake using these ramekins. I remember having one of those "I wish I had ramekins right now" moments but I can't remember when. Maybe when I was making lava cake . Daiso is evil. It's so cheap you just feel like coming back again! Oh and did I mention there's a $2 weighing scale?! Measures up to a kilo but that's quite alright for baking isn't it! I mean, $2!! Dirt cheap lah. Not sure about the accuracy though. Didn't do much cleaning last weekend, very much spent lazing around at home just like what weekends should be like. I love being at ho
