Boycott KFC?

Hello. I am in school. Supposed to be studying, but I just had lunch. Yah, you must be thinking, at this hour?! What to do, KFC was super inefficient today. Matt called at 1 plus to order, and they said they were overwhelmed by the numberous calls that were coming in and asked if they could call him back like half an hour later. What rubbish rite. Not enough phone operators, employ more lor. Not very expensive wat. But that's not all! There's much more.

So they called back, we ordered. They said it'll be here in 45 minutes. 45 minutes. Never mind. I can wait. Then after 45 minutes, the delivery man didn't come! So Matt called asking why and whether the order went through. I can't remember what happened (goldfish memory, remember) next but there were quite a number of calls made between the two parties. Matt got angry. Wahahaha. A hungry man is an angry man. Who wouldn't be! They claimed a few times that the food will be sent soon, or is already on the way, but actually it wasn't! Then finally at 4pm the delivery man called to say he's on his way already. 4pm! Basket!

Apparently their machine wasn't working. I don't know if it's the order processing machine, or the cooking apparatus. But cannot be the cooking apparatus lah rite, there's so many other KFC outlets to take our order.

But anyway, the food was free. But that's cos Matt asked for it to be free. I doubt they'll offer the meal on the house. And!! While we were eating, they sent another set! So we have 2 sets.

Boycott KFC? Haha

CNY Bakes

Back from the long weekend! Spent two days fully at home, cooking and baking. So happy. Day 1 was sindhi briyani and Almond London . Day 2 was ayam lemak cili padi and a batch of almost Famous Amos chocolate chip cookies , but I split the batter into 2: hazelnut, white chocolate, cranberry combination and hazelnut, dark chocolate chip combination. I made the cranberry ones first, they taste awesome. But after I ate the chocolate chip one, say bye bye to cranberry! Nothing beats chocolate. And the white chocolate chips somehow dissolved into the batter, melted. What to do, it's just white chips from Redman. I should try a better brand instead.  Happy new year indeed!

White Chocolate Cranberry Oatmeal Bars

 I love these! It's like a blondie but to make me feel less guilty, there's oatmeal. Was supposed to make these and freeze for easy morning breakfasts, but seems like they ran out pretty quickly that it didn't require that much freezing. Original recipe here . I made these almost three months ago and I still think about making these again and again. White Chocolate Cranberry Oatmeal Bars 2 1/2 cups old fashioned oats 2 cups flour 1 1/2 cups brown sugar 1 teaspoon baking soda 1 teaspoon salt 1 tablespoon vanilla 2 large eggs 1 1/4 cups butter melted 1 cups white chocolate chips 1 cup dried cranberries This is like one bowl mix so anything goes. Spread batter in two 8x8 square tins, bake for 22 min at 180 degrees Celsius.

Daiso Ramekins

Finally finally went to Daiso!! Wanted to go there for ages already! The first thing I came in, went to the cooking section. Found my ramekins! But they're not white. Oh wells. Can't be choosy for $2 ramekins! There were white ones, but super small white ramekins. And pie tarts too! Oooh so tempting! But I don't know when I'll make tarts hurhur. Actually I'm still thinking what I should bake using these ramekins. I remember having one of those "I wish I had ramekins right now" moments but I can't remember when. Maybe when I was making lava cake . Daiso is evil. It's so cheap you just feel like coming back again! Oh and did I mention there's a $2 weighing scale?! Measures up to a kilo but that's quite alright for baking isn't it! I mean, $2!! Dirt cheap lah. Not sure about the accuracy though.
