Batam Getaway

Went Batam for a short getaway! Pictures later cos I haven't transferred them to the laptop, let alone edit the fotos! Most fotos aren't about us anyway. Haha! And as usual, we tend to forget those mandatory shots like the room, the food. But we did take photos of the room on the second day. The place is gorgeous nonetheless! Wasn't expecting Batam to have such a resort. A very good place to relax and unwind and just spend quality time with your loved one. Speaking of which, we saw a gay couple doing just that! Gross lah looking at the ang moh and malay guy taking couple fotos yucksss. Anyway! Went to meet lil' one yesterday! All grown up and fidgeting :) So adorable! ♥ Our next meet will be in February, quite long more to go :( Can't wait!

Apart

It's only been a little over four hours, and I'm missing you a lot. So much I could cry. But it's not like we've been apart before... Hurry Tuesday faster come :(

Food and Renovation

Hello! :) I am hungry. HAHA. There was a talk by CPIB earlier today, and I didn't know they have a financial investigation unit! Awesome! I am considering... *hehehe*. Yesterday I tried awesome cheese fries and sipped a bit of Mee Bandung from Spize. Sedap!! I think I shall try the Mee Bandung one day. Not that common to find it at hawker centres.  I am sooo not gonna like Sunday. Cos The Husband is flying off to KL for a conference :( If only I didn't sign up for the five day course!!! Urgh. Should've signed up for the November one and leave my December free. Practically everyone's clearing leave and going on holiday, I wanna go on holiday too! Though actually a colleague said I have had enough holidays to last me a couple of years. HAHA. Okay lah fine. But a short getaway??? Pleaaase?? Heehee. Renovation's going on pretty well! Today we're gonna drop by and see the tiles that have been laid. It's pretty fast actually! Which means we need to buy our s

Unhappy

I was really looking forward to some sort of a holiday or staycation or whatever, but now looking at our weirdly "busy" schedule (I signed up for too many courses), I don't think that's possible. Or maybe it is, I just have to sit him down and look at ALL dates possible. Little things keep bugging me and they'll all swell up. Like waiting. And food. And my measly bank account. And renovation. And the bitter taste in my mouth. And lack of privacy. And waiting. Have I mentioned waiting? I need chocolate. LOTS of chocolate. And I want to go back to our life in London. Ooh and London's cheap but good fatty biscuits!

Must-Bake Syndrome

I have this must-bake syndrome that hits me once a fortnight. And then I'd head down to my mum's (since our house hasn't even started hacking yet) to use her trusty oven. My siblings are only too happy to receive free snacks. Especially the night rodent aka beloved sister. She'll go sneaking in the kitchen late at night to snack. Right now I have an urge to bake cookies. Triggered by the thought of Famous Amos cookies, but not liking the price of those yummy crunchy cookies. This weekend's a no-go for baking. Sigh. On another note, I want us to go on an escapade. Let's drive away somewhere in Malaysia okay? We've been postponing this for way too long. Hopefully there's no floods or heavy rain :)

Ikea's Meatballs

Tried Ikea Tampines' halal meatballs last Saturday. My friend said it's delicious, so we went and gave it a go. Tried the kid's meal (we were just taking a light meal at that time) of meatballs and baked potato and chicken wings. It's not too bad. Much better than those fake bouncy balls they sell in packets, but not fully meaty. Would've preferred a more meaty meatball, less fats. Could've done with more sauce, though. But the interesting bit was mixing jam with the sauce! Haha! Had a twist of sweetness to it! The chicken wings were so-so. It's amazing how Ikea can get soooo many people to eat at their cafeteria. The food looks so-so. Easy to make, too. Most of the non-halal section are boiled items, put together without much sauce. It's not like it's super cheap. Maybe after walking the whole showroom, they get hungry. Haha.

FFL's Back!

I miss Other Half :( Today we won't see each other the whole day until maybe at 10-ish. That's long. Very very extra long. Sigh. Extremely sleepy today. Lack of sleep, and sleep these days are always filled with action-packed multi-storyline vivid dreams. Tiring lah! Was supposed to sleep early but this and that happened and so we slept late. I love my sleep. Speaking of which, I need pillows. After many years I've still yet to find a proper sleeping position with the best possible pillows. FFL IS BACK!!! YAY!! Initially I wanted to mogok and refuse talking to her, but when I saw that she was online, I couldn't resist. Haha. Lame, I know. We're going to have a triple date soon with the other FFLs! Yay! Actually, we haven't had a triple date before! Maybe I shall volunteer to make something :)

Household Hunting

Home updates! We've signed the contract with the contractor. Hopefully all goes well. Thankfully, cabinet colours have narrowed down to white + wood, but still unsure which colour's the door and which colour's the kitchen top. This weekend hopefully we can go pick tiles. Though Pergo flooring seems soooo tempting. Last weekend was fully spent on home and renovation. Three days of travelling from one end of Singapore to the other to search for lights, fans, sinks and taps, TV console and coffee table. Finally, we've bought some of the lights and both ceiling fans, and our sofa -- huge and at a steal! Have yet to settle the stove and hob, bedroom and hall lighting. Quite hard to find decent ones. Still got loads to settle! Hopefully our home will be fully functional by year end.

Fantastic Fries

My love for potatoes and french fries has grown. This is bad! French fries isn't at all good for the health. So much preservatives and oil. But oh so heavenly! Especially those spiced wedges, crisscut fries, or thick shoestrings. Omg! Salivating. Had a dose of fries just now! Teeheehee. And now I'm sleepy -_-" Omg! Popeyes at AMK and Toa Payoh are halal!! So convenient! Yay!

Not The Best Of Days

Today is a day gone slightly off. Too hungry too often. Maybe it's an after effect of refusing to eat anything at midnight yesterday. Well I thought I could just sleep it off since I had dinner like four hours prior to that. But turns out, I had mild gastric in the morning and it became worse in the morning even though I ate. Gastric got much worse after lunch :( Pants too tight. I feel fat. Doesn't help with the gastric either. I desperately need to shop. A hungry woman is an angry woman. Especially if she was made to wait. Thankfully I got my soto ayam! Fever still not subsiding :( Maybe I should go to the doctor after all. But my family doctor isn't on duty today. Am terribly bored at work.  Long weekend ahead, don't sem like there's anything interesting. Maybe I'll go my mum's house to bake or something. Haha. Smell of cookies or cake does wonders! :)

New Pants & Our House Back

I need to get new pants :( It's now tight around the waist even for my most loose pair. I hate finding pants. It's hard to find one that fits perfectly well for my huge behind. When I do find one, I'd send that pattern straight to the tailor to replicate about three pieces more with other colours. And the last time I did that was like, three years ago? Haha. The Husband and I have finally gotten the keys to our house back! It's great to see the familiar rooms again :) And our block has been painted! Finally, a fresh coat! It looked awful and dirty before the repainting. And and and!! They've marked out the area for lift upgrading. Yay! I hope they start work really soon! After all, election is coming hurhur. Took a look at our little place, and thankfully the rockstone wall isn't as bad as I thought! Plastering should be okay. The full length bookshelf will be huge and pretty too, especially when Husband's books are fitted in neatly. Still have not decided

Hectic Sunday

FFL must be having one heck of a time because I haven't heard from her since! Tsk tsk. I hope those two newly weds are having the best times of their lives! :) Hmm. Makes me wanna go for yet another honeymoon too. Hahahahaha. Sunday was hectic. Saturday we were in JB to help out with Cousin's wedding, and the next morning we came back to SG for two couples' solemnisation before rushing back for Cousin's wedding. I was in unglamorous flats because heels would kill my feet with so much running around. I don't really like wearing flats, makes me feel so short and bare and lazy. I love solemnisations! Especially if it's the solemnisation of a cute couple. And I always feel like pengantin baru too even though it's been more than a year! Haha!

Whirlwind Wedding Weekend

Whirlwind of weddings this weekend! Tomorrow we're off to JB to rewang for cousin's wedding on Sunday, and there's two other weddings on that day too. FFL's getting married yay!!! Very happy for her :) And another is a good colleague of mine, actually the guy is my colleague too haha. Very sweet couple! Mad rush from one solemnisation to another, and then to JB! I hope it won't be as tiring as last Wednesday's solemnisation. FFL, I'll write a special post for you soon! Haha. Hope you wedding runs smoothly and all goes well! Remember to smile and please don't worry about anything else! Just enjoy the day, look gorgeous and glow! We'll see you this Sunday! :)

Hunger Pangs

@11am: Hungry!!! I wanna eat Tom Yam Ramen or Tom Yam Banmien for lunch!! *growls* Ramen Ten should do food delivery service. Bleah. Was really looking for a non-fast food delivery, and there's nothing much. Am so disappointed. Ramen Ten offers delivery for large orders only. Also, I've even made a feedback request to Hei Sushi to have a delivery service hurhur. Old Chang Kee has delivery services but not in the mood for that at the moment. Haha. @ noon: I've succumbed to my hunger and is snacking on a low fat Raisin Oatmeal snack bar. I'm so terribly hungry I can't take it!!! Lunch at 1pm is waaayyyy to late.

He's Coming Back!

Husband's coming back today yippeee!! I'm as happy as a lark! No no. As happy as a goldfish!:) Today is our fourteenth month anniversary. Fourteen wonderful months of being married to the most awesomest husband in the world! It's such a great feeling to love and be loved, and having that special someone with you always. You are my punching bag, my joy, my hero and thinking about you always makes me smile. And of course, you let me irritate you hehe! On the topic of love, I totally love this song! Just The Way You Are by Bruno Mars. It's like the perfect song each girl wants their other half to sing to them! *melts*

Cannot Wait

This anticipation is killing me. Hurry up Friday please come!! I really want to know so I can do what's necessary.

Breakfast!

Finally after so long, I'm reunited with my all time favourite cereal - Post Waffle Crisp! My father can't stand the strong caramel smell. Haha. But I love it especially when it mixes and sweetens the milk! Dropped by 7-11 to get milk before work. Decided to try Meiji Strawberry Milk. Kinda thick. It was on offer - but if it's from 7-11 I doubt the offer's worth it but hey I didn't have any other choice - at $2, and the kind cashier gave me a free gift! Kept in a yellow spherical capsule, inside holds two handphone accessories of the Little Men and Little Miss series! I got Mr Nosey and Little Miss Shy. I think I'll go with Little Miss Shy. Hurhur. [photos will be inserted later since I don't have my camera with me] FIL's friend came back from Amsterdam bringing back for us this pack of Gouda's Gilde Original Karamell Gefullte Wafflen . Looks delicious! Saw on the ingredients, Bourbon vanilla. And I thought, damn! Isn't Bourbon a type of

Healthy Lunch

I am STUFFED! Had Tandoori Chicken Croissant sandwich from Coffee Bean . Wanted to get something healthy. But healthy is usually more expensive. Okay I realise croissant isn't as healthy as normal bread haha... I'll switch to the non-oily breads in future. The chicken portion was very generous and chunky! And the vege too! I like! It was like almost a whole tomato in the sandwich, with a long slice of cucumber, and salad. On top of that, there's side salad too! I love how they include raisins and almonds in it. Hungry monster finished it like she hasn't eaten for days. Yes! Every bit of vege and almond and raisin. And now my stomach's bursting. Dropped by NTUC to get pears and China Kong Pears (those yellow ones I know as buah lai). They shall be my snacks when I'm terribly hungry like this morning. Shall not resort to cookies anymore! Cookie Monster in rehab Today I shall start eating healthy seriously! No more hot hot chicken shit (literal translation o

Perfect Oven

Other Half is up in the air. Sent him off at the airport. I pray that all goes well for him there. I know he'll present his paper well! :) I feel like baking cookies again. Haha! Very tempted to try the World Peace Cookies , though my sister said they look like cakes instead of cookies. But I'm sure that cookie monster will gobble them up all the same. Haha. Over the weekend, I think I found the perfect convection cum microwave oven! It is gorgeous and sleek. But on the expensive end: almost $1,000. The built-in oven is cheaper, weirdly. I always thought that such ovens are more expensive. Oh well. See how. In the mean time, I can always drop by my mum's house and use her oven there! Haha! The cookie monster will greatly appreciate.
