Wake Up and Smell the Cake

Finally after so long, I'm reunited with my all time favourite cereal - Post Waffle Crisp! My father can't stand the strong caramel smell. Haha. But I love it especially when it mixes and sweetens the milk! Dropped by 7-11 to get milk before work. Decided to try Meiji Strawberry Milk. Kinda thick. It was on offer - but if it's from 7-11 I doubt the offer's worth it but hey I didn't have any other choice - at $2, and the kind cashier gave me a free gift! Kept in a yellow spherical capsule, inside holds two handphone accessories of the Little Men and Little Miss series! I got Mr Nosey and Little Miss Shy. I think I'll go with Little Miss Shy. Hurhur. I am STUFFED! Had Tandoori Chicken Croissant sandwich from Coffee Bean . Wanted to get something healthy. But healthy is usually more expensive. Okay I realise croissant isn't as healthy as normal bread haha... I'll switch to the non-oily breads in future. The chicken portion was very generous and chunky! And the vege too! I like! It was like almost a whole tomato in the sandwich, with a long slice of cucumber, and salad. On top of that, there's side salad too! I love how they include raisins and almonds in it. Hungry monster finished it like she hasn't eaten for days. Yes! Every bit of vege and almond and raisin. And now my stomach's bursting. Dropped by NTUC to get pears and China Kong Pears (those yellow ones I know as buah lai). They shall be my snacks when I'm terribly hungry like this morning. Shall not resort to cookies anymore! Other Half is up in the air. Sent him off at the airport. I pray that all goes well for him there. I know he'll present his paper well! :) I feel like baking cookies again. Haha! Very tempted to try the World Peace Cookies , though my sister said they look like cakes instead of cookies. But I'm sure that cookie monster will gobble them up all the same. Haha. Over the weekend, I think I found the perfect convection cum microwave oven! It is gorgeous and sleek. But on the expensive end: almost $1,000. The built-in oven is cheaper, weirdly. I always thought that such ovens are more expensive. Oh well. See how. In the mean time, I can always drop by my mum's house and use her oven there! Haha! The cookie monster will greatly appreciate.

The Husband is flying off tonight for work. Sigh. Though it won't be as bad as the time he was studying in London, I will still miss him terribly :((( Hurry come home k so I can continue disturbing you. Haha! Can't wait to fetch him this Friday!

LKY's wife is remembered to be many things - wife, confidante, lawyer, mother. The short tribute clip I saw on the news the day she passed away. Kinda sweet lah how their romance started. It also made me realise Mdm Kwa was a great woman. She's one of those that truly reflects the saying "behind every successful man is a woman". Makes you think, what kind of wife are you to your husband.

I baked yesterday! And I think I shall start making this blog into a foodie blog. Hahaha. I had time to kill at my mum's house, and I wanted to give a surprise (which wasn't a surprise anymore since I couldn't buy ingredients discretely -_-") to Other Half cos he's been so tired lately and could do with some cookie-love :) Found this chocolate chip cookie recipe from eatandbehappy . I wanted to try some other cookie recipes but they called for Dutch processed cocoa which I couldn't find at the shops I went and didn't want to go all the way to Sun Lik at Seah Street so I resorted to this simple recipe. First time trying Redman's chocolate chips. Tried the white and the dark chocolate coverture chips and they're awesome! Wayyy better than Hershey's. Doesn't taste like cheap chocolate at all, and it melts after baking! And they're huge too :) Baked two batches, the second batch of cookies were more rounded. Could be because I whipped t

I had one of my favourite fruits yesterday, the pomelo. This beats durians anytime! :) My dad introduced me to this fruit. In fact we're the only two in the family who likes eating this. I can sit in front of the TV and eat it till I'm bloated. Haha. It's addictive! Especially cos you can eat it sac by sac. OOOH. Doesn't it look so juicily yummy!! Packed with good stuff too! Makes a good detox. I don't mind eating eat daily! But I don't really know how to choose. Further nutritional info found here and here . And after eating you can make this for your cat: Meow.

Tired. And I'm not even doing full housework and cooking. I feel like weekends should just be spent at home doing housework and nothing else. Then spend some quality time with Other Half. That's it. Oh and read the newspapers too!! I wanted to read on Saturday, but I didn't. Not enough time? Or I just have to wake up early. But 8.30am is quite early already! :( And bake! I would love to bake on weekends. Or try some weird recipe. Or marinate stuff for the following week's food. I think I shall get a house helper once in two weeks, to iron my clothes at least. My clothes require a lot of ironing. Haha. Then that'll free up a few hours and save me from tiredness!

So I didn't buy the super chio red bag in the previous post. Neither did I went to look for it. Ended up at Far East Plaza and bought another bag!! Heehee. But before that, here's the other bag I bought previously, looks like a small school bag. $29.90! Have yet to use it though. Hehe. And this is yesterday's buy! Am very happy with it! Has a long strap, can be used as a shoulder bag or a sling bag. Love! Heehee!! Now I have too many bags! I should consider making space in my house to display my retro and vintage and in future, expensive bags :)

Teeheehee VERY tempted to get this. But it'll burn a whole in my pocket and will affect reno finances too. Sigh. Mummy dearest said she has too many bags already and won't be getting any even though there's a sale now. But I have yet to start my own collection! Should I should I?? Hmm... Maybe I should just go take a look at it. Just see see only hehe. And ask for the price too.

My clutch/sling bag for Raya. The one I got from Far East Plaza. Pretty hor!! Modelled with Chip. I love the centre piece! Love the vintage look and Aztec feel :) Preferred this to the usual stones brooch. Though it's a bit more than what I'd budget for a simple clutch, but I feel it's worth it. Weeee!

Now's lunch time! First lunch after fasting. But I don't feel hungry. Or maybe not yet. I guess fruit cake can really make you full. Lunch time and I don't feel like going to eat, or going out. Instead, I feel like sleeping. My eyes are dry again due to lack of sleep. And water too I guess. And the worst part of it all, my lunch kaki already HAD lunch. URGH. And here I was, so excited over what to have for our first lunch date after a year. Disappointed. *pouts* I need a new mug. One with lid. The one I'm using now is already three years old. And is plastic-ish. Starting to smell. Ah wait~! I found a mug in my drawer! Teeheehee from lunch kaki. Yay no need to buy oredi! :)

It's like talking to the wall. I wonder how long I'll take to understand and accept.

Remember the wedges I was so happy about? Here they are! I've worn it for two days now. To work. Hahaha. Okay I shall remember to take fotos of my bag purchases soon. Another note to self: charge camera!!

Yippee!! Yesterday Other Half brought me to Far East Plaza!! Thank you darling! Weeeee! Bought a pair of wedges, a clutch and a cute sling retro schoolbag! I feel like going shopping there AGAIN!! I found a shop with elegant work clothes, but sadly their sizes are like S and XS. What the hell. So small. If only I wasn't that big... Sigh. Anyway!! I is loving my buys! The clutch is plain, leather-like. I doubt it's real leather since it's just $31.90. And you can choose the ornament for the clutch too! Heehee. The shop has a website with their catalog online. VERY tempted to get other bags. Hehe. Was supposed to look for a sling bag, and we found this shop with awesome big totes! I like big bags! But but. That wasn't in my shopping list so I should avoid. But I got this hard shelled bag at the same shop! It's pretty! I like! Maybe I shall upload fotos instead of making such a lame attempt at describing the bags. Haha. I have a cut on my finger and a 2-inch long greenish bruise on my wrist but I can't remember incurring those injuries. I can't remember hitting myself especially! Either I have goldfish memory, or my nervous system is a little haywire. Sometimes I have cuts I have no idea where I got it until it stings when coming into contact with water. I know people may puke reading this, but I miss Other Half even though it's only been half a work day. Can't wait for the day to be over! Teeheehee. Life has been very good AWESOME with him :) Having a car during lunch is so convenient. Now that I don't have a hold of the car unlike the past year, I'm feeling a little handicapped. Lunch time shopping escapes drastically reduced. Sigh. I really wanna go get me some sling bags from FEP! As of yesterday both pairs of FFLs now have their own flats! Yippee! Why am I up? I can't sleep. It's way past my bedtime and I don't like it. I don't like bazaars. I don't like being out so late. I don't like sudden change of plans that I have been looking forward to. I don't like shopping when I don't have the mood. I am sick. I hate coughing. I cough like I want to vomit something out but there's nothing. I want to go to the mosque. Now. Haha. Ya very funny. There's no qiyam right now I guess. I want to go to the mosque and sit there the whole day and night. Kinda addictive. I want to sleep. I want to blast my ears with music. I want to drive a manual car like an angry mad woman. I like double dates! :) I wanna do a triple date tomorrow but I can't. That would be fun :) I want my house back. I miss the boredness I had in London. I want to go back to office.
