Barely A Week

I am missing Other Half terribly. It's barely a week since we've parted. Still more weeks ahead before he comes home :( The event over the three days made it worse. Conferences like those are the kind I would most definitely want him to be around. To discuss with, to clarify. Ideas or thoughts I feel most comfortable discussing with him. There were quite a few terms which I wasn't so sure of too. And at yesterday's finale event, colleagues brought spouses. A colleague pointed to the door and said "my wife's coming!", beaming with pride. I really wished The Husband would come through that door too. Waiting for you impatiently, The Wife

Back Home

I'm back in Singapore. Flight was okay, I was seated in between two men who luckily are thin. Food was from an Indian company. The dessert for dinner was AWESOME. Something called Pista Kheer. It was delicious! At first I was jealous cos the non-halal food got Strawberry Truffle. But the Kheer was delicious! And something new! Breakfast was bleargh though. Singapore is more humid than London. My face was super red when I got out of the airport. Didn't help that the plane wasn't cold at all. Met family :) Nice to see them again after so long, though it didn't feel long. I miss Other Half :( I miss disturbing him. And seeing him smile. And hearing his laugh. I miss everything I do with him. Which is practically everything :D I shall not cry. He's coming back soon :)

Day 114

Very fast. It has been the longest allowed stay here given to me. 114 days. 3 months 22 days. Tomorrow is Day 114. Time flew by. We have had such an amazing time, the longest time we've been living together since we got married. How we've grown accustomed to each other. I don't want to leave Other Half. Again :'( It wrecks your heart to think would he take care of himself well, what if he falls sick, what if he needs company. It wrecks my heart even more because this is the third time we're parting. I hope he returns home safely to me and we can live happily ever after together , the faster the better. Amin.

Another Pair

And so I didn't buy the black heels. Because it has pig skin lining. Bleah. Good thing I didn't buy online too. But!!! Since I was already at the shop, I browsed through the shoes on sale and I got something better! For the SAME price! Although on the website it says 20 pounds instead. Good deal! Perfect for weddings! Or other occasions also can. Looks much prettier when worn. But I foresee blisters. HAHA. Oh well. What's a pair of heels without blisters! Hahaha. Aahh now I'm broke! Haha! No more shopping. I need to deposit next month's pay + bonus in another bank: Confirm I won't withdraw the money wan. Too leceh.

I Miss My High Heels

I bought this yesterday while waiting for Other Half. Thank you for being late! Hahahaha :) Price? TEN POUNDS!! :D Just what I needed! Brown heels! The one at home is quite in a bad shape. Trying on the shoes was a little weird cos it's been months since I've worn heels. Been wearing flats all round London. Need to get used to heels again! Hahaha. Love this pair. I can run in them too! Hahaha. Always buy shoes you can run in. And then my itchy fingers went to their website to look for more deals. And I found this: Another 10 pounds deal!! Should I buy?? Should I??? Very very tempting!! Hahaha. I think I shall. Hopefully they have it in store. Ordering online will cost 5 pounds more for shipping. Okay bye! Attempting Korean beef stew today. Wish me luck! [edited] So here's the recipe I used! Korean Beef Stew improvised 1 onion 2 garlic 2 inch ginger 1/2kg beef 50ml dark soy sauce 5 tbsp sugar 1 tsp cili kisar 1 tsp black pepper Serai to taste Turned

Baking & Kitchen Daydream

Chanced upon this website, Lick the Frosting , and it is awesome!!! Looks sooo delicious! And I've never heard of others doing cream cheese frosting! I did it once but that was because I didn't have any other frosting choice cos I was in a hurry. And the website has recipes too! It has inspired me to bake at least once a month when I have my full kitchen ready! Which, I have yet to decide what kind of design I want. I'm still unsure if I should get a long stright cabinet, or an L-shaped one, or like below, U-shaped! U-shaped sounds cool. Looks great too! And I can fit in a diner! Photos are courtesy of this website: http://fguinto.blogspot.com/2009/11/modern-country-style-hdb-3-room-flat.html This is by far the most practical yet pretty kitchen for a HDB flat I've found online. No point looking for my dream kitchen with an island cos I ain't getting one in our home. And some contractors purposely leave out the washing machine and fridge so that it'll look

Bag It!

Was browsing through the website my mum gave me, and I found two leather bags I'd like to have but obviously can't buy yet: It's a weird blue but the design's pretty! Anyway it doesn't hurt to have an outstanding blue as part of your bag collection! Classic beauty isn't it! A must have! I like classics for bags. Very the elegant. Okay that's all for now! Daydreaming continues!! Hahaha

Leaving Soon

Tomorrow is Monday. Last few days here before I fly back home. Damn that's fast! Hopefully the next few weeks will pass by quickly too, and Other Half can go back home soon and say BYE BYE to London. I don't ever want to come back here unless needed. Back in Singapore, we'll have the house to settle. Renovation and furniture! Still quite undecided on how we're going to do the house. Especially with budget constraints. Have to start looking for furniture ideas when I get back! Anyone wanna follow me? Haha. I'm doing my kiasu stunt again of going back to work less than a day after touch down. This time it'll be crazier cos the night I come back, it's World Cup finals baby!! Straight no nonsense Germany versus boring Holland. And Germany will win, duh. Then back to work a few hours after that! Not that I haven't been working (okay you can disagree on this haha!), but I'll be back at my desk! Must be dusty... Yucks. Loads to catch up! I bought a max

Football Iron Fan Food

Watching football alone is boring, even if it's exciting Latin American countries against each other. I was sleepy during the second half of the Brazil-Chile match. And 15 minutes before game ends, I fell asleep. Woke up to find advertisements already playing. I burnt a hole in my white tudung today!! Actually, it's TWO holes! But I only left the iron for a few seconds only!! How can! I've left the iron for like a minute on t-shirts and other cotton clothes and nothing happened. Darn. Haha so that's my first iron burn hole. Luckily it's just a tudung and not clothes. Finally! We have the fan up and running! It wasn't spoilt! We thought it was, well it really didn't work when we tried it! So we went back to the store to exchange, but when we were there, we saw that there's no more of the same fan, or the other model similar to it. What's left are small table fans and a bloody expensive standing air-con unit. The air-con unit would be perfect for t

Like a freakin' pendulum.

To The Market To The Market!

Me and my trolley, off to the market! It's a nice day today, sunny, yet not too glaring. Windy with not too much pollen I hope. Let's walk to the market! :) Past a row of houses before reaching the town's tube station. An old man with a white songkok haji busy in his garden, from the back I thought he's Malay cos of the colour of his skin. Ah. How nice it would be to find another Malay here! But it's not. A man standing at the pedestrian crossing waiting for the green man, but he didn't press the button. Wait long long ah lydat! They don't work on weight sensors you know. A couple of people painting their houses, bright brick red. Some houses already had a fresh coat of paint. Shades of pink and red roses abundant in gardens, and other summer flowers. Pretty! Of course, there are abandoned gardens too. Market! But first, window shopping for dresses and skirts :) I love how easily you can get long skirts and dresses here. Affordable too! Went in and out of al

Shopping Time

21 June 2010: Wanted to do something different with sotong today, like sotong bakar or something like that, but it was hard to find the recipe! So I settled for this one instead: http://audreycooks.blogspot.com/2006/08/sotong-curry-squid-or-calamari-in.html Finally! I could use the belacan and asam. Haha. Other Half loved it, so mission accomplished! Today: Life has been good. So good that I've been getting fatter. Haha. NOT good. That, I hate. The babats gather round the stomach area. Bleah. Can I have a magic wand and zap it all away? :( The weather's getting cooler, and hotter and cooler and hotter. Today it's hot. But one thing good about summer, shopping :) Sale has also begun, but nothing much on sale caught my eye yet. Lots of long dresses and quite a few skirts here! I like! Maybe I shall go looking for that wide leg pants too. After being dormant for a couple of months (a major feat!), the shopper in me has come alive! Hahahahahaha

Touched

Very good holiday :) Feels kinda weird to be back at home after a week of walking around a lot. And when I walk a lot and get thirsty, there's no appetite to eat. Now I feel fat and lazy. The kitchen is just a stretch away! Munch munch. I have a stupid headache. Sian. I think it's the result of staring so intently (and frowning too) at the laptop watching two episodes of CSI back to back. I think I need the green pastures, large homely German country-side houses and fat brown & white cows back. I love the view. And good for the eyes too. Anyway! I wanted to say I is touched! Haha :) One, dearest Shez sent me 2 long smses asking me if I'm okay cos I haven't messaged her for a couple of days. So sweet! I thought it was my mum messaging me, so I went back to sleep thinking I'll reply later. Two! Juni misses me while I was away from Internet. Haha. And an all-time sweetie, Other Half. He was so sweet to have offered to help out with housework yesterday :) He

Back Again in Florence

Ciao! :) In Florence right now. Yes! For the second time! Haha! This time with a husband :D It's Day 2 of Italy-Fussen trip, and I've gotten myself a tan already. Forgot to bring my hat!! Sigh. So far it's been a beautiful time here, Pisa was okay, but Florence is amazing :) We painstakingly climbed 463 steps up to the top of the Duomo, got amazing views, gawked at churches (what else) which weirdly I didn't notice how beautiful they are or I must have forgotten when I came here 3 years ago. And the best part of today was getting our souvenir, a watercolour painting of Florence. We saw this particular artist with some of his paintings near San Lorenzo, and we were contemplating on getting it. After looking at other artists' and vendors' collections, we decided to go back to him but the initial one we wanted was already sold. But! We saw a work in progress at the side of his chair, not yet ready to be displayed. We asked if we could have him complete it and he sa

Update

It's 6pm Monday and we have not packed! Haha. Facebook is flooded with fotos from the AAM camp last weekend. Sian. I wish I could've attended! Would've been so much fun and also get to know the kids. I especially like dragon boating. I remember last year's camp. I got darker because of it, with a wedding in like two months! Haha! Luckily the tan wasn't that bad :D The weather seems to be getting hot again. More bright sun and pollen. I hate pollen. Most of it dandelions I guess. We're both much better now, and trying to avoid being sick again. Hopefully the change in weather won't get us sick. For the third time. Today's my mummy's birthday. And only today, with the help of FFL, I realised that I could've bought for her shoes via Charles & Keith online and send it to her doorstep! Why didn't I think of it earlier! But never mind. I browsed, purchased, and hopefully it reaches my mum soon! My blog is boring. I don't blog that o

Nothing Like Home

I hate London. I don't know why people love this place so much. It sucks. The air here sucks. It's dirty, pollen infested, dirty, smelly and just not the kind of air you wanna breathe in. Bleah. I don't like the medical facilities either. Wayyy too comfortable with Singapore's. I don't like the hooligans especially the youngsters. Feel like slapping and punching them. If any one of them was killed in some fight, I'd say good riddance. The only nice thing about this place is that their customer service (for some retail shops) are amazing. Very friendly. But other than that, I miss my Singapore very much. I can't wait for us to be back in our own home. Yup. I'm a spoilt Singaporean brat who thinks there's no other better place than home. I won't ever want to step into this country again unless there's no other choice.

Food Craving

A list of things I wanna eat back in Singapore: masala thosai McSpicy Swensens ice cream towers kentang ball bee hoon goreng mama I'll add to the list later.

Brat

This is me when Other Half is mugging for exams. A very bored and abandoned bratty baby and always seeking attention. But! Tomorrow marks the end of exam! WOOHOO!!

Haircut

I need to cut my hair. At least my fringe. I want to have annoying fringe that doesn't seem to stay behind the ear again hahahaha. Maybe I shall do a DIY haircut (including the back) like back in the JC days. I shall go buy scissors! :) My mum is getting sick way too often :( I do hope it's because of the weather and nothing else. But still, it's worrying :( I don't recall her having a low immune system. I love my mummy very very much dear God please take of her k. I am getting fatter. Damn. I am seriously considering that expensive programme my sister is selling. It is effective, might as well right. His exams will be over in two days! Yipee!! :) More time for me! Hahaha. Yesterday's lemak cili padi was a disaster. I never seem to get this right. This time, the coconut milk was tengik. Spoil only. Threw away the gravy, and used the instant mix instead. Kinda running out of ideas of what to cook. Haha! I shall buy boneless chicken and cook stir fry more ofte

Bored

Can his exams hurry come and go. Please please please. It's irritating me a lot :( My kek batik turned out weird. I shouldn't have included eggs. Or maybe use less. Wednesday I'm gonna bake banana cake! Whee! :) And. I'm bored. So bored that I'm bored of being bored. Bleah.
