We've Moved In!

We have moved in!!! Yay! :) Very tiring process of moving and setting up. 3 huge luggage + 2 small luggage + boxes of new kitchen appliances + loose kitchen appliances in plastic bags. After which, getting groceries from the shopping city nearby. Heavy lah! I shall go get the trolley or grocery bags, at least. Poor Other Half had to carry rice + chicken + probably 2 kilos worth of bananas + other stuff. Of course, I had to carry things too but less heavy lah hehe. But still! Our arms fell like dropping off the shoulders. Did I mention I LOVEEEE shopping city?! It's like Oxford St right here in Turnpike Lane! Coolness! I shall explore more. Oh oh! And there's M&S Outlet!! Outlet! I love this place :D Monday I think I shall rot at home and be a good housewife. Haha! I sooooooooo do not wish to go back Singapore :(((((((((

Be A Good Wife/Husband

Found this on Other Half's facebook, very good reminder for me especially. Be A Good Wife Let me tell you the ways to get to his heart Delicious food is where you should start A really good meal – there’s nothing like it Be it steak or biryani, kebabs or fish When he returns home from work, greet him at the door A really nice smile will please him for sure Elegant clothes, make-up, perfume applied All these things make for an attractive wife. Serve him his meal and do it with style The domestic woes can wait for a while. Be a good listener – Was his day alright? Be ready to give him support and advice When he’s home, try to be there for him No friend can be more important than him If he wants to go out put everything aside Let your company be the best thing in life Be smiling and cheerful and do make him laugh This is one more way of keeping his heart Use wisdom and tact when dealing with him Nothing can be gained by fighting with him If he does say something which y

Interesting Person

We've been meeting lovely people here, Alhamdulillah :) Today, we chanced upon a Malaysian lady. At first we saw her at the school campus, and she smiled at us, so we smiled back. Other Half and I concluded she's a Malay, and probably teaches Malay Studies at the campus. Turns out, we're right! Haha! I bumped into her when I was wandering in the campus looking for a bookshop. Then we started to get to know each other. Coincidentally, Other Half completed his registration. He joined us, and since we too have not eaten lunch, she graciously offered to bring us to this Malaysian restaurant. Food there's not bad! I had Mee Bandung, and it's pretty good! I don't really know what Mee Bandung tastes like actually, but who cares! This is good! Hahaha. A little ex, though. The place is called Tuk Din, somewhere in Paddington/ Sussex Gardens. The woman we met? Whoa. Seems like she's hobnobbed with some big shots! She's a journalist/ freelance writer whos

Exploring London by Foot

Morning! It's almost 6am here. I wanna do a recount of yesterday's events. Quite a long day! In the morning, Other Half has his orientation for international students. We left a little early thinking we had to take the bus instead of the tube as there were engineering works along the Jubilee Line we were taking. But! As it turns out, in London's many interconnecting lines, we could get away without taking the bus. Cool! We reached King's Cross a wee bit early, so we stopped for a cup of hot chocolate and light breakfast. Thinking that all the kebab stalls are closed, we tried this sandwich shop just opposite of the tube station. I had tuna sandwich, and the tuna serving is way better than those sanwiches found in Singapore's 7-11. I kept one sandwich in my bag, just in case I got hungry later, a highily likely situation. Haha! Off we went to find his school, about a 5 to 10 minutes' walk from the station. The weather's cold today! Nice :) We found hi

I'm in London!!!

I'm in London ah baybehhhh!!! Weather's niiice :) Am currently with this young Malaysian family, a friend of one of our colleague's who has so very graciously helped us settle down. Reached London at about 5 plus in the morning. Surprisingly the 13+ hour flight didn't seem too long. The taxi ride to this family's place is BLOODY expensive. Guess how much? 96 pounds!!! Have quite a bit of fotos taken already - what?! Only a few hours and so many fotos! Okay Other Half wants to look for lodging. Update later. BYE!! :)

One Month

The sweetest thing person is cooking this evening. *melts* chickenrice! :))) Coincidentally, there's cake -- pecanbutterscotch + chocolatebanana -- for tonight's little special dinner too. Happy one month :)

Home Therapy

Funny, I find doing household chores therapeutic. I don't mind losing sleep for it. How I wish I can have one day in a week to do nothing but chores. Say, 9am to 3pm? Hahaha. And with the sun shining brightly! :p I'd be so happy to hang out clothes to dry! Crisp sun-baked clothes. Aaahh. Nice. I can't wait to wash the bedsheets and mop the floor! :)

(Failed) Cooking Attempt 1

Good morning. Yesterday was the first buka at home with home cooked food. No instant food, no tapau-from-parents food. I was actually pretty nervous about cooking. Haha! I have minimal experience, always trying to avoid helping my mum in the kitchen hehehe. So I wrote down the things to buy, and I followed Shez's advice, visualise what I'll be doing. Lunchtime, went to get the ingredients that have not been bought, and after work we rushed home! Haha. Ayam masak lemak cili padi. Didn't turn out like what my mum cooks. Not spicy at all because *someone* didn't want too many cili padi. The gravy was kinda tasteless cos too little salt but I think the main culprit is too much water added. I would like to say in my defence, not me either. Haha! Okay okay, too much excuses. But! Practice makes perfect. This is only the start. Other Half being the sweet Other Half he is, he didn't complain :) He even asked for a second helping :) Oh yeah no vege yet! Even thou

Acting Housewife

HELLO!!! In case you're wondering where I've disappeared... It's because I have no internet at home. Yup. Hence the lack of posts or facebook activities even. Right now I'm at my mum's place freeloading off the internet. Haha! I'm an internet addict! Just came back from a one week break, now is fasting month, soon I'll be flying off with Other Half to Motherland. But I'll be back. To work. Sadly. Oh wells. I shall look forward to the December trip then! :p Life's been good, I've been a pretty sucky homemaker, but Other Half's really patient with me HAHA. I like to take my own sweet time, even hum a tune while I'm at it. I got to do just that, and take EVEN a longer time, today! On medical leave! Official medical leave. I really am sick, fyi. The only thing I regret not doing (I only realised I could've done it but it was late already) is washing the bedsheets & pillow cases. Darn! Such good weather today! Haha I sound like aunty-a

I Love My Bridesmaid

I would like to share what my bridesmaid wrote. It is so darn sweet and sappy I just have to share! Friends for life! ;) Love you loads!! At the end of the 2 day whirlwind, I didn't think I'd be hearing from the lovebirds until they came back from the honeymoon. I thought they probably wanted to enjoy the first few days of marriage life exclusively together, lost in their own little world. I didn’t even wanna like SMS Far or whatever. So today (Monday) when I got an SMS asking if I was free for dinner, aper lagi! I was shocked, surprised, super duper happy, and onz ah! I can be such an irrational creature but I really do think that it's so sweet of them that they want to spend time with us when it's just Day 2 of being husband and wife! I think the excitement I displayed at meeting up with them was macam lah I didn't see Far for 2 days straight the past days. Haha. So we had a nice nice dinner, shared stories etc etc. Then, I was even more happy coz we got to invite

Makan Sayur

"You nak apa?" "Hmm ayam masak merah..." "Begedel?" "Begedel... and satu sayur la, I let you choose." " Sayur ?!?!?!" "Ya sayur, tapi jangan yang merapek-merapek ah k." To the man who takes the effort to start eating vegetables for me , I love you :)

Livable Bahay

It's just days away. I have yet to fill the cupboard with clothes. HAHA. Will do so tomorrow. But but. I think I will have a problem with that. You see, there's lack of space and proper storage. Jialat. Weekend's been pretty filled. Bahay has more furniture now thanks to our relatives! :) And my family and relatives went there to lepak-lepak already. Feels kinda cool! The kitchen had food (doesn't matter that mother cooked at home and brought over hahahaha), a proper lunch was served on the dining table, house is 'livable' haha. Okay lah... Not really. Need to go and buy food, toiletries etc. I HAVE to make it a point to go there everyday this week and bring something in! My brother keeps saying there's no food around. Haha. So tomorrow, the first batch of clothes, and some food. Bahay preparations are much more than this weekend's. And I need my salary pronto . I really pray that everything goes well this weekend, and the week following that. And our li

Office Therapy

I went home late! Whee! You know, staying back at office is therapeutic. Unless you're required to do so ALL the time. No one in office, blast songs, do work in peace. Better than going shopping.

Humble House

Bahay is looking more like a home :) My dear parents transferred quite a few stuff over for us to have a little start, mainly kitchen items. Now we have some utensils, mugs and containers. Electrical appliances are pretty complete too! Yay! But my parents ALWAYS say I won't know what to do with them and other stuff either. HAHA. True lah. I have never really done anything great on my own in the kitchen. I treat cooking like a chemistry experiment. If it really is, then I'll be a good cook! Haha! Chem practical is always easy to score. But when it comes to cooking, preparations already take up a lot of time. I know I will take my own sweet time to figure things out. If I take an hour to prepare dinner, then an hour it shall be. Haha. My poor roomie would have to eat a little later heehee. Need to know how to use the washing machine too. HAHA. The only time I worked the washing machine was when my family was away for a few days. No choice. Haha. I know! I am not capable of managi

One Leceh Shopper

Below are the reasons why buying household stuff with me can get pretty irritating. One, all I know is this one not nice, that one not nice. Seldom, or never, do I say THIS is nice and I want it. Two, cos I can't make up my mind. See reason one. If it's something I'm not like, really attracted to, then the bo chap attitude kicks in. Three, I don't know the market prices, hence I wouldn't know if it's the best deal or not. I've never taken an interest in the cost of things my parents bought for the house, hence the lack of general knowledge. Ask me the price of cars, I'd be better with that. So when I'm in my bo chap mode plus I am not sure if it's the best deal, I don't feel obliged to buy if the design doesn't attract me at all. If it's darn cheap and the design is so-so, I might not mind. Four, all I have ever known is I want a chinese themed house. That has been my wish since years ago. Baba also can. Baba even better. Haha. Either
