Humble House

Bahay is looking more like a home :) My dear parents transferred quite a few stuff over for us to have a little start, mainly kitchen items. Now we have some utensils, mugs and containers. Electrical appliances are pretty complete too! Yay! But my parents ALWAYS say I won't know what to do with them and other stuff either. HAHA. True lah. I have never really done anything great on my own in the kitchen. I treat cooking like a chemistry experiment. If it really is, then I'll be a good cook! Haha! Chem practical is always easy to score. But when it comes to cooking, preparations already take up a lot of time. I know I will take my own sweet time to figure things out. If I take an hour to prepare dinner, then an hour it shall be. Haha. My poor roomie would have to eat a little later heehee. Need to know how to use the washing machine too. HAHA. The only time I worked the washing machine was when my family was away for a few days. No choice. Haha. I know! I am not capable of managi

One Leceh Shopper

Below are the reasons why buying household stuff with me can get pretty irritating. One, all I know is this one not nice, that one not nice. Seldom, or never, do I say THIS is nice and I want it. Two, cos I can't make up my mind. See reason one. If it's something I'm not like, really attracted to, then the bo chap attitude kicks in. Three, I don't know the market prices, hence I wouldn't know if it's the best deal or not. I've never taken an interest in the cost of things my parents bought for the house, hence the lack of general knowledge. Ask me the price of cars, I'd be better with that. So when I'm in my bo chap mode plus I am not sure if it's the best deal, I don't feel obliged to buy if the design doesn't attract me at all. If it's darn cheap and the design is so-so, I might not mind. Four, all I have ever known is I want a chinese themed house. That has been my wish since years ago. Baba also can. Baba even better. Haha. Either

Of Sushi & Bahay

Wah. I am stuffed! With sushi. And tempura :) I like tempura! Hahahaha. I've come to realise that I can't really take sashimi. The previous i.e. first, time I ate at Hei Sushi, my friends were asking me to eat this and that, including quite a bit of sashimi, and I was kinda sick of it. But Shez loves it, so okay I gave it a try again. Only ate one sashimi sushi. Hahaha! Cannot lah. Difficult to swallow. Hehe. The best dish we tried was the tempura ice cream! Sedap lah! And quite cheap too! I wanna bring *someone* there! Can hor? Can can can? Hehehe :) I bought QWERTY materials. Finally . Some progress! :) I shall start on it REAL soon! I'm happy! :) Listed down the things to bring/do/buy for the new home. I wanna call it Bahay! HAHAHAHA. Not really sure how it's supposed to sound. I just googled for a translation of the word "home". Bahay, Filipino for home. So there's two projects now, QWERTY and preps for Bahay. Not much time left! I wanna watch Public E

Forgotten Sports & Stuff

I went cycling last Saturday! Changi Beach to ECP. Fun :) The last time I cycled was probably 10 years ago, ignoring the one where I rode a twin bicycle hehe. That one I shall not count cos I didn't have to do the balancing, steering and even the heavy cycling HEHE. Can you believe it! I sort of forgot how to cycle! My balancing in the beginning was terrible, my cornering even worse. Tsk. But but. We is faci, so we should be the ones that take care of the kids, not the kids take care of us. So somehow, I had to quickly get used to the bicycle hahaha. Cycling is not the only sport I forgot. Golf is another. Goodness. My swing is terrible. I was very happy the golf ball shot up can! My first few swings, hancur! I was hitting the air. Sigh. I wonder if I forgot how to swim... Hmm. The CSI Las Vegas team should do an investigation on Wisteria Lane. Less than two months to go! Wheee~ :) I went Anchorpoint, and to my disappointment, I went back empty handed. EMPTY. Not even a p

campINC: Heartwarming

It is so heartwarming to hear the kids saying they enjoy and love the camp. Makes the effort and muscle aches worthwhile :) Hopefully it benefited them a lot. And not just the camp, but our mentoring sessions as well.

My Brain Went For A Vacation

I haven't blogged for quite some time eh. Let's see. campINC this FridaySaturdaySunday! :) I hope I won't be too exhausted for work on Monday hehe. Aiya not that I haven't been all perky and energetic lately. Don't ask me why. But that's what's coming. What went on for the past few days? Weekend was a wedding! Close relative, so we were involved busy-busy during the two day affair. I met one of my why-are-they-so-darn-cute-I-wanna-bring-them-home toddlers! Rifqi! When he was a baby, he looks like me and my sister! Now he looks different, but aiyoyoooo he's soooo chubby! Chubby cheeks, chubby arms, everything chubby! He's an obedient boy too! Playful, interesting, smart yet obedient. I like! :) I wish I could take him home. Make him mine!!! MY little boy!! *evil laughter* Other than that, life's been pretty, hmm, monotonous? Is that it? Or do I have such a goldfish memory I can't remember what happened? Oh! I remember Friday nig

Today's Khutbah

I like today's khutbah. Marriage is not just about love, it is about commitment and trust from both parties. Today's sermon will discuss about marriage. Marriage is an important institution in Islam. It is the basis and the foundation of a community. If the marriage institution is weak, then the community will become weak. If it is strong, then the community will be strong and continue to grow from strength to strength. Let us move a few steps back and ask ourselves a few questions. Why did we marry in the first place? Was it love and attraction, or was it due to other needs, whether to fulfill our desires and physical needs? Many of us may say that we got married because of love. But is love alone enough to maintain a happily married life? The answer is definitely no! Look around us and ask those who have had successful marriages the secret to their success. We will hear from them that the main factor to sustain a marriage is high level of commitment and trust from both husban

Double

I asked my fellow AAMer what it's like to be married. She says, when you're happy, you're double-happy, but when you're sad or angry, it doubles too. I think I know what she means.

campINC: MockCamp

Today was definitely a fun day! :) Went for mock camp! Super tiring lah, I really can't run you know. The last time I went jogging was... Err... Can't remember. Haha! And hor, not like my jogging is power lah. I is super slow. As long as it's not walking, I'll call it jogging. HAHA. Gone are the days of getting NAPFA test timings... Anyway! I am glad I went for this, even though I don't really know the people there. Haven't been meeting new people a lot. I'm quite an anti-social. Need to mix more. It's fun to relive the uni days of camps and games. Camps like this brings back memories of the fun fun times. A deviation from the usual working life. It's enriching, refreshing. Makes me feel young. Wahahaha! Not that I'm old, but being with undergrads brings back to uni days! Oh how I love those years :) Best schooling years of my life! And... It's been ages since I went for a school camp! Ooh! Someone said I look young too! Whee~ AHHAHA. Oh well

On The Fast Lane

It's happening quite fast, ain't it. Or maybe, I'm just refusing to move along with the speed. Whichever way, I have to catch up. A couple of days ago, I was thinking about how it's like to become a mother. Honestly, I am scared. How will I know I'll be a good mother? How will I know I've raised my kids to the best I can?

Fattie Ageing Me

OMG. I measured my weight and such this morning. My sister brought home a hi tech weighing machine hahahaha. I am glad to say that my weight is back to JC days!! Woohoo!! But sadly, the tummy isn't quite the same. Haha! My fat percentage!! Wah. Cannot make it. Jialat. Internal fat is healthy, but the external fat is terrible! But then again, I measured my percentage body fat when I was in JC, it was about the same too... or maybe 2 percentage points less. Haha! Bottomline: I have too much BABAT. And too little muscles. So Shez, you're not fattiefattie me. I am fattiefattie me. Oh yeah. And the bloody machine says my body is a 32 year old body. Like what the hell!!! Sigh. I am too fat AND too old. Tomorrow, fattiefattie ageing me wants to go and lepak at a library. I haven't been reading for the longest time. I need to upgrade my brain to a 32 year old brain to match my 32 year old body. HAHA.

My Maiden Bike Ride

Yup! My first ride on a bike on 7 May 2009! Whee~~ It was impromptu! I needed to tompang someone to the place we were going to play captain's ball. So I tompang-ed my fren! Not a big bike la, sth like scooter? Haha I dunoe. But I know it was fun!! Even though the distance was short, it was pretty cool! Hahaha.. Especially the selit part! Goodness! Scary can! Hahaha. I don't mind having another ride!! :))) A Brad Pitt invited me to his wedding on the 24th! Woohoo! Fun fun! :))) All you budak-budak Nanyang Tech MS who's reading this (I dunoe who else reads this blog anymore) do tell me if they've been invited! :) I'm bored. I think I shall go to the library tomorrow. Eh wait, tomorrow's a public holiday! Ah darn. I know! Maybe I shall go to some temple and watch Vesak Day celebrations hahaha. Hmmm does it work that way?
