My Maiden Bike Ride

Yup! My first ride on a bike on 7 May 2009! Whee~~ It was impromptu! I needed to tompang someone to the place we were going to play captain's ball. So I tompang-ed my fren! Not a big bike la, sth like scooter? Haha I dunoe. But I know it was fun!! Even though the distance was short, it was pretty cool! Hahaha.. Especially the selit part! Goodness! Scary can! Hahaha. I don't mind having another ride!! :))) A Brad Pitt invited me to his wedding on the 24th! Woohoo! Fun fun! :))) All you budak-budak Nanyang Tech MS who's reading this (I dunoe who else reads this blog anymore) do tell me if they've been invited! :) I'm bored. I think I shall go to the library tomorrow. Eh wait, tomorrow's a public holiday! Ah darn. I know! Maybe I shall go to some temple and watch Vesak Day celebrations hahaha. Hmmm does it work that way?

Go Away Go Away Go Away

My parents tell me, if both of you are happy together, happy with each other, and can always depend on each other for support, then can liao. Things should be easier to manage. Interferences from other people should not shake us. They are like unnecessary junk you can just brush aside. I would very much like to brush aside these unnecessary junk.

Yang Menemaninya

Today I shall tell you more stories of my kids. One girl asked me why I'm not a teacher. I asked why, and she said "kakak ada tokoh jadi cikgu". HAHAHAHA. I told her if I wanted to be a teacher, I would've taken a degree in Maths. Me? Teacher? Haha... Maybe lah har... Mid life crisis maybe. Right now I'm happy just teaching once a week haha. This one is relates to the same girl. I asked her what's her understanding of coefficient. Her answer? "Yang menemaninya." (translate: the one that accompanies) HAHAHAHA!!! Yeah I get what she says, but it sounds so funny! Menemaninya. Hahaha. Good answer :) The boys told me what they did yesterday night in school, such a riot. Literally. Haha. I shall not say what they did. I feel tired. Mentally I guess. And I don't know why, I just want to be pampered. Not that I'm not, but ya, I feel like I want to be pampered NOW. Haha. It's 9pm. I should sleep soon. Ha.

My Chem Boys

My Saturday mornings are a deviation from the usual work weekdays. Something I look forward to :) I had more than usual boys for chem cos my 2 co-mentors were not around. But it was a joy to take them in, these boys are cute. Smart kids. Sometimes they ask for extra notes, which I will gladly provide them. When you see that they want to learn, makes your effort worthwhile. Haha sometimes they show off their extra notes to their peers even. Funny lah these kids. One of them keeps calling me "cher". Haha. He's a little peculiar, in his own world, but very smart. Another asked me whether I know the chemical formula of urine and sweat. I said I didn't know, and with all enthusiasm, he said, "Formula dia sama! Betullll!! Nanti kak gi google." Hahahaha. I thought that's not possible, but I said okay, I'll go check. Then another asked, kalau sama formula, then kenapa kita nyer air sembahyang batal bila kencing tapi tak batal kalau berpeluh? HAHA.

Good Friday

Yeah Good Friday was last week, but today's my good Friday! Hehe :))) Morning's presentation was very well received Alhamdulillah :) I like to thank my boss (who's reading this) for his time and effort and for obediently taking the laser pointer HAHAHAHA. Sorry hehehe :p And today I've decided to try something during lunch! ;) Haven't done it before, and because of the new building, it is very convenient to try out! Hehe. We'll see how it goes :) Toodles!

Think Family

Goodness. I just watched the Funeral advert again on TV, and I teared. AGAIN . It just hits your heart so deeply every single time! In the end, it's these small things that you remember, the little imperfections, that make them perfect, for you . So to my beautiful children, I hope one day you too will find yourselves life partners who are as beautifully imperfect as your father was to me. And you are the perfect beautifully imperfect one for me :)

Language of Love

The girls talked about language of love the other day. I was like, what's that? It's actually five types of ways you or someone expresses love: words of affirmation, quality time, receiving of gifts, acts of service, and physical touch. People usually have one or two which is more prominent and preferred. When the girls asked me what's mine, I was like, ehhh I think all of the above lah! HAHA! :p But anyway, I took a quiz and turns out! I love quality time the most (11 out of 12) and receiving gifts least (1 out of 12)! Haha! My husband-to-be is a very lucky man! No need to buy gifts! HAHAHAHAHAHHA!! :D

Aaaahhh Comfort Food

Blk 4 Toa Payoh masala thosai is THE comfort food of the moment! Move away, chocolate! Haha Now I'm stuffed! :)

Best Boss.Hunger Punger.Lousy Layout

I would like to say a BIIIGGGG thank you to my boss for all that he did to make the good news of yesterday and today happen. I think I shall renew the star sticker of "Best Head in the World". For the new office lah maybe haha. I skipped dinner and now I'm reaally hungry. Bad bad habit. Remember what Confucius disciple said, no dinner yesterday make you hungry man/woman at 7am, 9am, 11am in the morning. Looks like my tummy will be having an earthquake every now and then tomorrow morning. Important date to note: 27 April 2009!! :))) Hopefully there's no complications! Yesterday I went to Sembawang Shopping Centre. I don't like the parking there. Firstly, they're wasting space. More lots could have been built! Secondly, they'll let in cars as long as there's an empty lot. Which is the norm, except for the fact that even handicapped lots are included! Like hello!! You let me in, I dun have a sticker, where you expect me to park you tell me!!! So, I

Big Grape

Fruits have mutated. Here's one: Whoa!! Damn big leh! This is by far the biggest grape I've ever seen! Twice the size of a 50 cent coin! Note: No foto enlargements have been made. Betul punya gambar!

Tired

Wah sehhhh Tired. Fang's married! My first chinese wedding! Better still, I was one of the jie mei! Fun hor! :) Yesterday was Fang's wedding dinner, this morning was the tea ceremony. Tired lorrr. I'll write a longer post on her wedding, when I'm less tired. Haha. Left earlier cos I've another wedding later! *faints* Hopefully I won't be left alone or something. Confirm not familiar with the people there. Maybe I should sleep for a while. Ta-ta~

Low Productivity

I am not looking forward to tomorrow morning. For two reasons. A redundant presentation, and a missing person two missing persons. But I hope to hear very good news in the afternoon! All the best! :) My productivity rate surged, peaked then plunged. HAHA. I told you the motivation doesn't last! Hmm. Not all motivation is lost, only half of it. I hope after tomorrow it won't be all gone. Tengok lah! Bukan nak buat kerja, buat ni graph bukannya ada apa-apa hasil pun! Hehhehehe. Okay I shall stop this and go back to work and go home.

Tastebuds DIED

After yesterday's morning meeting, I feel motivated to work! Motivation like that doesn't come often, you know. Haha. Hope it lasts! I went to the doctor - again. Sian. Wah this time har! The antibiotics sucks big time! The most bitter thing I've ever tasted! Really! I put it in my mouth, tried to drink quickly but I ended up spurting out the whole thing. Bleargh. I feel like my tastebuds DIED because of the medicine. No amount of gargling can get rid of it. I even used a tissue to wipe my tongue. Luckily there's lozenges. But the lozenges weren't that nice after some time too. Haha. I hate being sick.

Inspiring

Today's papers featured couples that withstood and overcame big challenges, a special report in the spirit of Valentine's Day I guess. Nevertheless, they are truly touching and inspiring stories. Very good reminders not to take our loved ones for granted, and also to show us what true love means. For better or worse, for richer or poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, till death do us part. Of course I'd like to change the last part to "till death do us part - temporarily". ;) A vow so common that may have lost its significance, but one which truly encompasses love in a marriage. All of us should be reminded of this from time to time.

Remember Diet

HAHAHHAHAHA I was munching on muruku (I still am) and my colleague sent this to me:

Deprived

I attended a meeting just now where there were two very experienced big shot Muslim (I don't think they're pure Malay ahahahha) accountants. Very refreshing I tell you! I feel like I haven't been exposed to such thinking for quite some time now. The details they were able to pick out, how they can link with various laws, regulations and practices, I haven't been doing that much recently. It's not just about numbers, it's about the objective behind them, behind the actions. Even the way they spoke about corporate governance was like something fresh for me. I guess I have been tweaking corporate governance so much to fit the third sector that I am beginning to lose what I've learnt before. I dunoe! They're just, err, structured. HAHA. Okay probably not the most accurate word there. I felt enlightened! I felt so, hmm, at home! Motivated, even! It's not easy for me to feel motivated lately. Haha. I feel deprived.
