Tastebuds DIED

After yesterday's morning meeting, I feel motivated to work! Motivation like that doesn't come often, you know. Haha. Hope it lasts! I went to the doctor - again. Sian. Wah this time har! The antibiotics sucks big time! The most bitter thing I've ever tasted! Really! I put it in my mouth, tried to drink quickly but I ended up spurting out the whole thing. Bleargh. I feel like my tastebuds DIED because of the medicine. No amount of gargling can get rid of it. I even used a tissue to wipe my tongue. Luckily there's lozenges. But the lozenges weren't that nice after some time too. Haha. I hate being sick.

Inspiring

Today's papers featured couples that withstood and overcame big challenges, a special report in the spirit of Valentine's Day I guess. Nevertheless, they are truly touching and inspiring stories. Very good reminders not to take our loved ones for granted, and also to show us what true love means. For better or worse, for richer or poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, till death do us part. Of course I'd like to change the last part to "till death do us part - temporarily". ;) A vow so common that may have lost its significance, but one which truly encompasses love in a marriage. All of us should be reminded of this from time to time.

Remember Diet

HAHAHHAHAHA I was munching on muruku (I still am) and my colleague sent this to me:

Deprived

I attended a meeting just now where there were two very experienced big shot Muslim (I don't think they're pure Malay ahahahha) accountants. Very refreshing I tell you! I feel like I haven't been exposed to such thinking for quite some time now. The details they were able to pick out, how they can link with various laws, regulations and practices, I haven't been doing that much recently. It's not just about numbers, it's about the objective behind them, behind the actions. Even the way they spoke about corporate governance was like something fresh for me. I guess I have been tweaking corporate governance so much to fit the third sector that I am beginning to lose what I've learnt before. I dunoe! They're just, err, structured. HAHA. Okay probably not the most accurate word there. I felt enlightened! I felt so, hmm, at home! Motivated, even! It's not easy for me to feel motivated lately. Haha. I feel deprived.

I Cooked Lunch Today

Ya lor I did!! Amazing rite! Haha! To be specific, beef rendang, fried cabbage and rice. Pretty simple hor. Haha. Guess how long I took!! Two and a half hours. Preparation, cooking, cleaning. Muahahaha. Ya man that long! Did the whole thing while my mum went to the market. No supervision and no one to ask guidance from. So naturally, I made a few mistakes. Hehe. I forgot which one is ketumbar which one is jintan. So what did I do? I googled both to see what it looks like. Haha! I love google. I used corningware to cook the rempah + meat, then I realised it's too freaking small for me to stir the whole thing, so I had to quickly wash the larger wok which was partially filled with oil so that I can use it instead. Haha. I was cooking the meat halfway then I stopped the fire wahahhaha. I hope it didn't affect the meat. LOL. Hee hee if my mum saw this, confirm get scolding one :p I didn't time when I started to cook the meat. I forgot to cook rice. AHHAHAHA. My mum re

Wives Club

I met the wife of my colleague at another colleague's wedding today - luckily! I thought I was gonna be alone, no kaki you know. My usual kakis all couldn't make it, or came at different time. Then then! At the carpark, we saw the two of them walking towards the block, heng ah!! The wife and I are somewhat in the same situation, well not exactly situation, more like scenario?, just that she's one step ahead of me. I think we both can share a lot of things eh... I see similarities. Muahahahaha. We should form a wives club! Woohoo. I bet our husbands will shake their head in disbelief when that happens. Hahaha!

Pineapple Tarts For You & Me :)

Pineapple tarts again! Hehe. But only one batch, makes six trays plus 3 big gingerbreadmen :) For exclusive people only. HAHA. These are the beauties! Awaiting turn to be baked! The 3 gingerbreadman shaped cookies! Wahaha. My sister loves them. Cos she likes to eat crust. Haha. One each for us kids! Decor's by me and my brother. "Ooh I can't wait for the pineapple tarts!", says Chip. Yeahhh. All done :)

Stale Coffee

I didn't know coffee can go bad. Okay maybe it can turn sour, that is likely. But this bad?!?! You've got to be kidding me. Mould! 1cm layer of mould! I wonder how long this coffee has been there. Gross. Really gross.

New Happenings

We have a new addition to the family, will be arriving in a couple of weeks time. But but. Even though that should be the main highlight of the day, it isn't for me. My highlight? I bought manja magazine December issue today ;) Maybe you should buy it too ;)

Cute Couple Doll

I was bloghopping and I came across this!! Haha this is a wedding couple doll at the top of the cake. Apparently the bride is dragging the groom. HAHAHA. Cool ;) But that's not all! Look at the bride! She's wearing a tudung! I want I wannntt!! Hehe Yup. I want this, or something like this, for my wedding cake! Wahahaha!

Mak Suruh Ambik

In my leave application today... Leave Type: Vacation leave Leave applied: 28-Nov-2008 [Fri] Total Leave applied: 1.00 days Reason: Mak suruh ambik. [Mother ask to take] I love writing nonsensical reasons for taking leave. Haha.

Cockroach In Your Shoe?

This morning I was at a coffeeshop somewhere in Toa Payoh (no I did not have a second breakfast), and I saw something gross. HAHA. I was just sitting down minding my own business, then!! I saw something dark brown crawling near my table. I looked down, and it was a cockroach! Wasn't that grossed out, not the kind that'll scream at the sight of a cockroach. I lifted my feet, let them hang in the air, not touching the ground. And a good thing too! You see, this cockroach very the kepo. It crawled to this person sitting next to me. And it went up his shoe. I saw it go up his foot, and then up summore to his leg! I think it went up there lah cos I couldn't see under the trousers. Hahahahaha. But the guy wasn't squirming... Hmm. So maybe the cockroach wasn't there? Haha I dunoe. Oh well lucky it's not me! HAHAHAHAH

Camel Farnana

And yes I got it! Woohoo! Bandung and sugarcane juice. Heehee. Thank u!! :D I is happy girl! Actually it kinda looked scary lah, me waiting to attack one bowl of soto ayam, plus two tall drinks. HAHA! And what's worse is that I finished my soto (but not all the gravy) and the drinks!! Wahaha! Was very the bloated with water. But good mah, then I won't eat a lot. Hehe. And so, cos of this craving of mine and being able to finish both drinks at a meal, I got labelled a camel. "Why?? I cannot drink a lot of water is it??"

Stomach Want To Pecah

Wah sehhh!!! I cannot tahan! My stomach is going to EXPLODE! I ate so much, I can't bear to think of food anymore. My mum asked what I'd like to eat for sahur tomorrow morning, and I sooo don't feel like eating anything. Why my poor stomach is in this sorry state is cos I had buffet dinner at Straits Kitchen courtesy of the management themselves (woohoo!!). And part of food tasting as well. See, I was actually eating for a purpose. HAHA yeah rite! Anyway. That was my second time there, the first was also free, courtesy of my company. Haha! Paying more than 50 bucks per person for their buffet is not worth my money lah. I can buy clothes and shoes with that money. I couldn't wait to attack the indian food!! Heehee. Malay food, nothing special lah cos outside also can get, and my mum also can cook. Chinese food, not a fan. Indian food, especially north indian cuisine, wah!! I liiiikkkkeeee. Muahahahaha. So for my first plate, I took 2 pieces of tandoori chicken (trust me

Do They Have Necks?

Today I learnt a few things. It all started with talk that pigs have no neck. Apparently I read somewhere that pigs have no necks, so cannot sembelih (slaughter). HAHA. Somehow that makes comical sense, but obviously that can't be the main reason we can't eat pork. But my trusty researcher says otherwise, she read somewhere describing that pigs have necks. Then my brother said, amphibians also don't have necks! So maybe that's why we can't eat them. HAHA. If you think about it, yeah snakes have no neck, frogs too. But newts? Hmm. So my researcher went diligently and swiftly to find info, and look what she found on amphibians! Body forms extremely varied - elongated trunk with distinct head, neck and tail to a compact, depressed body with a fused head and trunk and no intervening neck. Wah seh, so varied! Yup, and why we can't eat amphibians, I still don't know. And then info on pigs: Pigs cannot sweat and blood circulation through the ears is important for

My First Hamper

I received my first hamper today!! Usually management gets hampers and gifts from our vendors and stakeholders for Hari Raya. Hehe but I got one too!!! I is happy! But sadly, I cannot claim it for myself!!! Need to declare and give to HR. Bleah. Never mind. I took the flowers that were attached to the hamper. They'll die even if I don't take them, so might as well. HAHA. Red roses! :)
