Sashimi

Lately I feel too lazy to type long entries. So anyway. I tried sushi today! I have always wanted to try Hei Sushi, finally I did! My friends were asking me to try this and that. What to do, my first time mah. I had quite a bit of sashimi. Okay lah... Doesn't have the fishy smell. Actually, now while typing this and thinking of eating raw fish makes me a little queasy. Raw fish! I swallowed raw fish! And it was like, hmmm, at least 6 pieces? Bleeeaaaaggghhhh. I think it's easy to get fat if you eat sushi. Cos you see like you eat so little pieces of sushi, but you forgot that actually that mouthful (which I find difficult to chew in one go) contains quite a bit of rice. Danger... I'm still queasy. I think I've had a bit too much sushi for my first time at a sushi bar. Haha. Don't think I'll try it out again anytime soon. Lucky you ;)

Kelantan's Ridiculous Ban

"Malaysian city bans heavy make-up, noisy high-heels" This is a ridiculous ban!! Like, seriously!!! They are suggesting that tapping sound of shoes will encourage rape?!?! What kind of logic is that!! Malaysian city bans heavy make-up, noisy high-heels Posted: 24 June 2008 1525 hrs KUALA LUMPUR - A Malaysian city has banned Muslim women from wearing brightly coloured lipstick and noisy high-heeled shoes to work, the national news agency Bernama reported. City officials in Kota Bharu, the capital of conservative northern Kelantan state, which is run by Islamic party PAS, distributed a circular to local firms last month to outline the dress code, Bernama said late Monday. The report said the circular stated that the directive, which targeted Muslim women working in food outlets and other business premises, was aimed at preventing incidents like rape and illicit sex. It ordered women not to wear thick make-up including bright lipstick, or high-heeled shoes "that gave a tap

Oozing Madness

I tell you!!! I just had a piece of The Royals chocolate truffle, all melted and warm and it's HEAVENLY !!! Actually I lost my liking for their chocolate truffle already, but we still had some leftover from Saturday, so I took a slice. Heated it up in the microwave, actually a wee bit too long cos all the chocolate cream melted and were oozing out like crazy, the cake layers toppled!! But then again, that's what made it look oh-so-delicious!!! Way waaaaaayyy better than eating just the normal cream cake form, which lately tasted like cheap chocolate. Then you scooped up some of the melted cream, plus some cake, waaaaaahhhhh!! Sedap!! So!! Next time you guys try it out!

Blissful Weekend

I have had one of the most amazing weekends in a long, long time. Yesterday's little outing was bliss, today is family bliss. We spent the whole day out! Today's family outing was really fun. Fun in a sense we enjoyed each other's company. My dad especially was in a good mood! For a homebody like him, going out the whole day and not complaining is already good enough. Haha. And he even ate Chinese food which he refused to eat previously! And I like to see my parents holding hands when we go jalan-jalan :)

The Fun Never Stops

Today's amazing. Just amazing. This morning's low tide, like negative 0.2 metres low, perfect day to go Chek Jawa! Yeah, I know, last week I just went. Hahahaha. But but. It rained. HEAVILY. It didn't stop us from doing the board walk! Hehe. So of course we were soaking wet. Like really really wet. The winds were pretty strong too, blowing everywhere. My jeans were stuck to my legs, and I water was squishing out everytime I stepped on the ground. Wahahahaha. We decided to go on with it since we were there already, doesn't matter if people think we're crazy, cos we had fun in the rain :) Couldn't see starfishes and crabs cos it's raining, duh, they wouldn't wanna be out bathing in the rain rite, but we saw this prawn thingy, and crayfish. I was told it's a crayfish. Haha. There's also seagrass, and barnacles. The thing about doing the boardwalk in the rain is, there's no one else! Haha! Shiok rite! :D After that we were in town to find part of

Chek Jawa & Sorts

Saturday was a hectic day. Morning I went to Chek Jawa at Pulau Ubin, was pretty tired after that. On the bus back home, my mum called to say they'll be fetching me from wherever I am and then off we went to Subaru car showroom. Wahhhh I is liking Subaru WRX S-GT!!! I don't like the design, but the engine!! Whoa!!! 250bhp can!! Double that of Swift Sport's!! And the gear shift is the tiptronic kind, wah damn fun lah! I tell you, if me and my dad went for the test drive, we'll be super duper tempted to buy. For that kind of power, the car's cheap cheap!! Hehe. After that we went back, I got ready to go out yet again for the NTUMS Alumni Dinner. Met up with the adhoc peeps, haha pecah perut lah u guys! And I met some unexpected colleagues there too! It is really a small world. Haha. Anyway!! Chek Jawa! That was my first time in any Singapore pulau except Sentosa. Wahahahaha. You really wouldn't believe that place belongs to Singapore. It's so laid back, so kam

Working Lunch

I went to this launch of an ETF lunch seminar with 2 of my colleagues. Actually I wasn't invited, haha who in the right mind would invite me, I was replacing my boss lah. So what do you do at such meets? Collect namecards. Serious! Hahahaha. And eat!! Free mah... Oh yah, and listen to the seminar. The event was at Fullerton Hotel, and since it was a Japanese company, no surprises that sushi was part of the menu. So!! I ate that. And smoked salmon. Muahahaha. Sadly the sushi variety was poor lah. But it's free, can't complain much. Then I went round collecting namecards. The thing is, because of the nature of my company, I was more of a customer, and people from these financial institutions were like potential partners. So it was kinda fun. Haha. The seminar was such a bore. I was trying my best to keep myself awake, but I failed terribly. I think people sitting behind me can see me nodding off. Oh!! My university groupmate was there too!! But he only called me after he left

Imaginary Numbers

Hahahaha I got this from my colleague, and yes I understood the joke!! Apparently he sent it to only finance people. I wanted to forward it to the rest, but I thought, hmm maybe not this time. Haha. Get it? Get it??? Funny rite!! Hahahaha So I'm a math nerd. What's new? Heh.

Straits Kitchen

Today I had the opportunity to have lunch for free (woooohoooooooo~~) at Straits Kitchen. Yes I know it's been around for quite some time but I've yet to go there. I haven't been to Carousel too. Straits Kitchen is like a one stop food fair for local food, especially if you're bringing visitors around. My colleague recommended the Indian food, so that was the first one that I attacked. The rice was nothing special, but the dishes are not bad! Especially the grilled mushrooms! Tandoori's not bad as well. The rice was nothing special. Vege's okok only. I tried some of the Malay dishes as well. Not bad either. The roti jala a bit weird lah, who would expect the roti jala to have potato filling inside! I didn't really explore every single station, but I would say it has quite a variety. It is a must to come on an emtpy stomach. I couldn't really fit much just now, probably cos I ate quite a heavy breakfast. Damn. Hahahaha. So, because it's free, I give i

Mustafa

I went to Mustafa! By myself!! Hahahahaha Today is the only day this week that I drive. It feels good to hold the steering wheel again. Vroom vroom babey~!!! So. That feeling of independence, coupled with my evening mood of not wanting to hurry home, I thought I'd do some me-time shopping or wandering around. Anyway Novena shopping malls were tempting me to pay them a visit. But but! I ended up at Mustafa! Haha! I decided to do a little unnecessary grocery shopping NTUC would have been fine, but it was getting a little late, so what better place than the 24-hour shopping centre! Haha! I always go there with my family, never alone. But it was okay nonetheless. Nothing to worry about ;) Went to the supermarket section, did a little browsing after getting the stuff I needed, then I went off. Kinda nice to do grocery shopping after work actually. Or maybe for now it seems nice cos it's not part of my to-do list and it's not a routine thing. And since I was at Mustafa, I thought

Islamic Pickup Lines

Came to know this group on Facebook, Islamic Pickup Lines, and here's some which I find amusing: 3. OMG!! I just saw part of your hair, now your obligated to marry me. 6. Marry me so I don't have to lower my gaze everytime you walk into the room. 9. Would you like to help me wake up for Fajr? 13. Are your feet tired? Because you've been performing Tawaaf in my mind all day long? 24. You are the reason hijab was mandated. 29. Sister, I'm not drunk, just intoxicated by you. 30. Any cup of water that you pour for me will taste like Zam Zam. 32. Allah created everything in pairs, so what are you doing single? 34. Our parents engaged us when we were little, they must have forgotten to tell you. 37. Will my platinum VISA cover your dowry? 43. It must be Laylatul Qadr. Because that's the night that angels come down from Heaven. 48. I'm not sure of the Nikah process. Can you help me through it? 50. I think I just lost my wudu by the sight of you. 51. I'm not staring

Sleep-Typing

Yesterday I was doing some work at night rite? I was really sleepy, to a point where I was typing with my eyes closed. Just like when you write notes while falling asleep (I recall doing that many times during GP lessons) and end up with illegible scribbles and writing nonsense, same for typing. This was still okay, I was falling asleep, but not that bad yet. THEN ... My brain started to switch off: No link rite!!! What the heck was I thinking!! Totally different topic already lah! Hahahahaha

Meringue!

Meringue! Meringue~!!! Muahahahahaha. My colleague brought this today - like 10 huge pieces or so. And I think they're all mine! Muahahahahahaha. So sedap (delicious)!!! I like!!! Hehehe. Okay back to work.

Marble Cake

I am super bored and my eyes are tired. I don't like closed book exams. I tell you har! Today I is happy! You know why? This is why! I ate our favourite Malay guy in Acc year 3's mum's marble cake!! Wahahaha. Picture courtesy of our favourite Malay guy in Acc year 3's blog. That Tailong also supposed to bring hers but she forgot. I thought I can eat 2 types of cakes lor. Haha. The marble cake of our favourite Malay guy in Acc year 3 is damn nice lah! I know my cakes are nice (HAHAHA), but this time I admit defeat. This is by far the best marble cake I've ever tasted. Reeaaally nice. Hehe. Thank you our favourite Malay guy in Acc year 3! Wahaha

Boycott KFC?

Hello. I am in school. Supposed to be studying, but I just had lunch. Yah, you must be thinking, at this hour?! What to do, KFC was super inefficient today. Matt called at 1 plus to order, and they said they were overwhelmed by the numberous calls that were coming in and asked if they could call him back like half an hour later. What rubbish rite. Not enough phone operators, employ more lor. Not very expensive wat. But that's not all! There's much more. So they called back, we ordered. They said it'll be here in 45 minutes. 45 minutes. Never mind. I can wait. Then after 45 minutes, the delivery man didn't come! So Matt called asking why and whether the order went through. I can't remember what happened (goldfish memory, remember) next but there were quite a number of calls made between the two parties. Matt got angry. Wahahaha. A hungry man is an angry man. Who wouldn't be! They claimed a few times that the food will be sent soon, or is already on the way,

Lambo Comes to Town

Hello hello~!! Today, the ever kaypoh BBC will tell about this girl in the neighbourhood who has a Lamborghini boyfriend! How often does that happen!! Lambo, you say? Yes, you heard read correctly, it's a freaking yellow lambo!!! He's been here for a few weeks already. Usually comes twice a week, weekends and/or Wednesday. Must be go clubbing and dinner lah. Hahahah! I tell you, that car is pure noise pollution! You'll know when he's coming, and from which direction. So who's behind the wheel? And who's the lucky girl? From where I am, which is across the field, I couldn't really see properly. And I don't have binoculars too. Tsk tsk. What kind of spy am I!! Lousy hor. But but. I used my camera to take super ultra zoomed in foto, and this is what I got. Haha! He looks old, doesn't he? Just a hunch. And probably the colour of his hair. Or maybe he dyed his hair grey. But as I said, can't really see. But definitely not those young punks who took

The Hunt for Pineapple Paste

Just now my mum and I went to 3 places in search for pineapple tart jam. We're going to make pineapple tarts!! :) Hahaha macam we celebrate Chinese New Year. There was only one ingredient left to buy, which was the pineapple paste. My mum said the shop she always buy from didn't have stock, so we went to see if NTUC and Cold Storage have it. But then! Disappointed lah! Both don't have lor! Cold Storage ran out of stock, NTUC didn't even have it I guess. Wah so many people making pineapple tarts meh!! Cannot be lah! Even during the Hari Raya period the pineapple paste wasn't out of stock. Then we went Chong Pang my favourite pasar to buy groceries and to see if really the stock hasn't come in yet. And lo and behold! We found it!! Hahaha. At first we found pineapple paste of another brand, but since we really needed it, the brand didn't matter lah. We're going to modify the paste anyway. Then!! At another rack, my mum found the brand we usually buy! Wah my

Short-Crust Men

Baking again! Haha. This time it's pineapple tarts supposedly for Hari Raya on the 31st, but I think the tarts will all disappear by then. Today my sister helped out! This was actually baked on Wednesday, but I thought I'll just include it here anyway. Today's batch of pineapple tarts! My sister and I made gingerbread men! Macam we celebrate Christmas lydat. Haha! Actually they're not gingerbread lah, it's the short-crust pastry used for the pineapple tarts. Since we didn't have the mould, we cut the dough using the knife instead. Haha. The prettier one's mine! ;p My sister trying to transfer her short-crust man to the tray. She had to try a few times before getting a nicely cut short-crust man. And then! She had difficulty transferring her pastry man to the tray. Hahah. Our finally decorated short-crust men and cat before baking! Only had almond and choc chips lah, so deco was minimal. Didn't have choc rice or those colourful beads Carcar
