New Pants & Our House Back

I need to get new pants :( It's now tight around the waist even for my most loose pair. I hate finding pants. It's hard to find one that fits perfectly well for my huge behind. When I do find one, I'd send that pattern straight to the tailor to replicate about three pieces more with other colours. And the last time I did that was like, three years ago? Haha. The Husband and I have finally gotten the keys to our house back! It's great to see the familiar rooms again :) And our block has been painted! Finally, a fresh coat! It looked awful and dirty before the repainting. And and and!! They've marked out the area for lift upgrading. Yay! I hope they start work really soon! After all, election is coming hurhur. Took a look at our little place, and thankfully the rockstone wall isn't as bad as I thought! Plastering should be okay. The full length bookshelf will be huge and pretty too, especially when Husband's books are fitted in neatly. Still have not decided

Baking & Kitchen Daydream

Chanced upon this website, Lick the Frosting , and it is awesome!!! Looks sooo delicious! And I've never heard of others doing cream cheese frosting! I did it once but that was because I didn't have any other frosting choice cos I was in a hurry. And the website has recipes too! It has inspired me to bake at least once a month when I have my full kitchen ready! Which, I have yet to decide what kind of design I want. I'm still unsure if I should get a long stright cabinet, or an L-shaped one, or like below, U-shaped! U-shaped sounds cool. Looks great too! And I can fit in a diner! Photos are courtesy of this website: http://fguinto.blogspot.com/2009/11/modern-country-style-hdb-3-room-flat.html This is by far the most practical yet pretty kitchen for a HDB flat I've found online. No point looking for my dream kitchen with an island cos I ain't getting one in our home. And some contractors purposely leave out the washing machine and fridge so that it'll look

Leaving Soon

Tomorrow is Monday. Last few days here before I fly back home. Damn that's fast! Hopefully the next few weeks will pass by quickly too, and Other Half can go back home soon and say BYE BYE to London. I don't ever want to come back here unless needed. Back in Singapore, we'll have the house to settle. Renovation and furniture! Still quite undecided on how we're going to do the house. Especially with budget constraints. Have to start looking for furniture ideas when I get back! Anyone wanna follow me? Haha. I'm doing my kiasu stunt again of going back to work less than a day after touch down. This time it'll be crazier cos the night I come back, it's World Cup finals baby!! Straight no nonsense Germany versus boring Holland. And Germany will win, duh. Then back to work a few hours after that! Not that I haven't been working (okay you can disagree on this haha!), but I'll be back at my desk! Must be dusty... Yucks. Loads to catch up! I bought a max

From 2009 to 2010

First entry of 2010! Should I do the rather mandatory reflections of 2009? On the top of my head, I can't remember much of 2009 except that I got married. Either nothing much happened, or I really have goldfish memory. Hahaha. Or too much happened and I don't want to remember them. Oh yeah! We bought out house :) But that comes with the wedding of course. Still thinking what we should do with the flat. Haha! Slowly lah hor. Marriage :) To the sweetest and most caring and loving man that I can never ever comprehend why I deserve such a gem. Let me count... Almost five months already! Isn't that fast! We're still honeymooning, aren't we darling? Hehe. Just came back from a lovely trip to Andalucia! Great start to the new year eh. 2010 will be, hmm, how shall I put it, unpredictable? I just hope that it's all for the best, and like every beginning of the year, let's hope it'll be better than the previous. We'll see how it turns out. What I do k

Livable Bahay

It's just days away. I have yet to fill the cupboard with clothes. HAHA. Will do so tomorrow. But but. I think I will have a problem with that. You see, there's lack of space and proper storage. Jialat. Weekend's been pretty filled. Bahay has more furniture now thanks to our relatives! :) And my family and relatives went there to lepak-lepak already. Feels kinda cool! The kitchen had food (doesn't matter that mother cooked at home and brought over hahahaha), a proper lunch was served on the dining table, house is 'livable' haha. Okay lah... Not really. Need to go and buy food, toiletries etc. I HAVE to make it a point to go there everyday this week and bring something in! My brother keeps saying there's no food around. Haha. So tomorrow, the first batch of clothes, and some food. Bahay preparations are much more than this weekend's. And I need my salary pronto . I really pray that everything goes well this weekend, and the week following that. And our li

Humble House

Bahay is looking more like a home :) My dear parents transferred quite a few stuff over for us to have a little start, mainly kitchen items. Now we have some utensils, mugs and containers. Electrical appliances are pretty complete too! Yay! But my parents ALWAYS say I won't know what to do with them and other stuff either. HAHA. True lah. I have never really done anything great on my own in the kitchen. I treat cooking like a chemistry experiment. If it really is, then I'll be a good cook! Haha! Chem practical is always easy to score. But when it comes to cooking, preparations already take up a lot of time. I know I will take my own sweet time to figure things out. If I take an hour to prepare dinner, then an hour it shall be. Haha. My poor roomie would have to eat a little later heehee. Need to know how to use the washing machine too. HAHA. The only time I worked the washing machine was when my family was away for a few days. No choice. Haha. I know! I am not capable of managi

One Leceh Shopper

Below are the reasons why buying household stuff with me can get pretty irritating. One, all I know is this one not nice, that one not nice. Seldom, or never, do I say THIS is nice and I want it. Two, cos I can't make up my mind. See reason one. If it's something I'm not like, really attracted to, then the bo chap attitude kicks in. Three, I don't know the market prices, hence I wouldn't know if it's the best deal or not. I've never taken an interest in the cost of things my parents bought for the house, hence the lack of general knowledge. Ask me the price of cars, I'd be better with that. So when I'm in my bo chap mode plus I am not sure if it's the best deal, I don't feel obliged to buy if the design doesn't attract me at all. If it's darn cheap and the design is so-so, I might not mind. Four, all I have ever known is I want a chinese themed house. That has been my wish since years ago. Baba also can. Baba even better. Haha. Either

Of Sushi & Bahay

Wah. I am stuffed! With sushi. And tempura :) I like tempura! Hahahaha. I've come to realise that I can't really take sashimi. The previous i.e. first, time I ate at Hei Sushi, my friends were asking me to eat this and that, including quite a bit of sashimi, and I was kinda sick of it. But Shez loves it, so okay I gave it a try again. Only ate one sashimi sushi. Hahaha! Cannot lah. Difficult to swallow. Hehe. The best dish we tried was the tempura ice cream! Sedap lah! And quite cheap too! I wanna bring *someone* there! Can hor? Can can can? Hehehe :) I bought QWERTY materials. Finally . Some progress! :) I shall start on it REAL soon! I'm happy! :) Listed down the things to bring/do/buy for the new home. I wanna call it Bahay! HAHAHAHA. Not really sure how it's supposed to sound. I just googled for a translation of the word "home". Bahay, Filipino for home. So there's two projects now, QWERTY and preps for Bahay. Not much time left! I wanna watch Public E

My Brain Went For A Vacation

I haven't blogged for quite some time eh. Let's see. campINC this FridaySaturdaySunday! :) I hope I won't be too exhausted for work on Monday hehe. Aiya not that I haven't been all perky and energetic lately. Don't ask me why. But that's what's coming. What went on for the past few days? Weekend was a wedding! Close relative, so we were involved busy-busy during the two day affair. I met one of my why-are-they-so-darn-cute-I-wanna-bring-them-home toddlers! Rifqi! When he was a baby, he looks like me and my sister! Now he looks different, but aiyoyoooo he's soooo chubby! Chubby cheeks, chubby arms, everything chubby! He's an obedient boy too! Playful, interesting, smart yet obedient. I like! :) I wish I could take him home. Make him mine!!! MY little boy!! *evil laughter* Other than that, life's been pretty, hmm, monotonous? Is that it? Or do I have such a goldfish memory I can't remember what happened? Oh! I remember Friday nig
